I’ve been to 5 consultations so far, and 3 places said excision, while 2 said double-line lowering.
Their reasons are each so clear that I’m torn..;; First of all, my eyes aren’t the extreme type with a super high crease, so it’s more like lowering it just a little + changing the front part of the line from out-fold to in-fold.
Excision clinics: ptosis correction is essential If I do double-line lowering, it would only lower the line by about 1 mm, but the existing scar and the new scar would merge, creating a scar that is wider by that 1 mm and a double crease. It’s not really a case that needs double-line lowering. There is enough extra skin that excision is possible. For the front part of the line, where the extra skin is relatively lacking, doing a slight ptosis correction creates a tucked-in effect, so it can improve as much as I want without cutting too much.
Double-line lowering clinics: ptosis correction is unnecessary or optional There isn’t enough extra skin. Especially at the front part of the line, the skin is tight, so if it’s excised, it can spread apart over time and form scar tissue. And the possibility of lagophthalmos also needs to be considered. Here too, one of the two places said slight ptosis correction was needed, but that it was optional.
Both opinions seem right, but I don’t know which method fits better, so I’m confused…..
