It’s been almost 6 months since my rhinoplasty. I had severe nasal congestion, so I was mainly thinking about rhinitis surgery and surgery for a deviated nasal septum.
To resolve that, I had only thought about correcting my crooked nose to some extent.
Because of that, without much prior knowledge and without asking many questions, surgery for my crooked nose and hump nose was performed together.
Looking at the result, the hump nose correction seems to have been done by placing something above the bent area, and for the crooked nose, maybe because the asymmetry was very severe, I was told they did septal extension and tied the alar cartilages.
Since I went in without doing any research in the first place, at first my nasal tip was hard and had a foreign-body sensation, and my nose was very swollen, felt extremely large, and I was very shocked.
I had simply imagined my original nose shape being rotated and moved, but originally my nostrils were clearly visible, while now the nasal tip has come down enough to slightly cover the nostrils, so my nose looks longer, and because the nasal tip is hard, I can’t make a pig nose. I struggled a bit mentally with these various changes in appearance.
So only after the surgery, I asked the doctor a lot of questions about why it turned out this way and took time to hear the answers, but it wasn’t helpful... Since I had the surgery without much research in the first place, it was largely my mistake ㅜㅜ...
Now that 6 months have passed, it is also the time when I can have surgery again, so I’m going to look into hospitals. I joined a community and am leaving a review post.
Soon, I’m planning to look into ways to resolve this hard septal extension and ways to correct the asymmetry that still remains despite having had crooked nose surgery. Thank you.
