Before <eyes ruined by my first surgery> Before <2 years after medial canthoplasty restoration> Before <secondary canthoplasty + double-eyelid revision + lower canthoplasty> Before <2 months after secondary canthoplasty + double-eyelid revision + lower canthoplasty> After... everyone planning medial canthoplasty restoration, I hope this post helps.. (I went through so much, so I really relate) First, in Busan, at a plastic surgery clinic in Centum, I had buried-method double eyelids + medial canthoplasty in my third year of middle school, and ended up like the first photo.. (basically, it was ruined) - Eyes pulled too close together, asymmetry, excessive lacrimal caruncle exposure, nail-like scar, loss of aegyo-sal volume
I lived like that until I was 20, and as soon as I became an adult, I searched really hard both in person and online and had it done at a clinic. My double eyelids were also done badly, so I wanted to do double-eyelid revision together too, but they said I couldn't, so I only did the medial canthoplasty restoration.
First of all, everything improved, so I'm very satisfied. Because the scarring was originally so severe, they told me in advance that it would be difficult to fully improve the right-side aegyo-sal scar. Medial canthoplasty restoration really has a recovery process that is a test of patience. At first after surgery, there was a bulging area at the inner corner of the eye, and I think that may be characteristic of that clinic. That all went down within a month and became flat.
The restoration scar is basically nonexistent unless you stare at it obsessively. But since my eyes had originally been opened asymmetrically, the restoration was also asymmetrical, but honestly, after doing it, it improved so, so much that it was to the point where I didn't even care about that much.
After living like that for 2 years, I decided I wanted to finish everything at that clinic, and had double-eyelid revision + secondary canthoplasty on one side + non-incisional lower canthoplasty there. It's been about 2 months now, and I'm so, so satisfied!! Really, after almost a 7-8 year long journey, I restored my eyesㅜ I thought it would be nice if this could help everyone in the same situation as me, so I'm writing this long post. Leave any questions in the comments. I'll tell you everything I know!
