Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

1 Month After Implant-Free Rhinoplasty

I had implant-free rhinoplasty at a plastic surgery clinic. First of all, from the front, my nose was a slightly blunt, short nose and a bulbous nose, but it was not severe, and the overall harmony of my face was not bad. But because my nose was short, my side profile stressed me out a bit. I think I spent years just thinking about nose surgery because I was worried that if I got greedy for no reason, it might end up neither here nor there.

Everyone said they were worried because the consultation reviews for the clinic were all good, but there weren’t actually many surgery reviews. So I’ll write a detailed review! First, when I went for my consultation, while I was waiting, I ran into a patient who was coming out after a follow-up, and her nose was so pretty that I was tempted right away lol. Then I had the consultation with the director, and just like in the other reviews, the director was so kind and so sweet~ They explained everything so thoroughly, and instead of just explaining with their hands and words, they showed me photos and videos while explaining. They kept asking if I had any more questions, so I think I was able to talk comfortably. For me, my condition was absolutely, “I don’t want to touch the bridge of my nose, and I only want to raise the nasal tip slightly,” and as an example, I brought a photo of Ningning from aespa. I think a round yet defined nose is pretty haha. Honestly, because time has passed, I don’t remember more of the details, but writing what I remember: fortunately, I wasn’t someone with no nasal bridge at all, and compared to how short my nose was, my septal cartilage was sufficient, so implant-free surgery was possible. They said that if I did it, they would operate using only ear cartilage and septal cartilage. I really liked the consultation, but because I had heard so many negative things about nose surgery itself, I thought about it and then scheduled the surgery for about a month later. Fast-forwarding, on the day of surgery, I saw the director one last time, had the design drawn, and went into the operating room. Maybe because mine was implant-free, I don’t think the design itself took that long. They wake you up from the middle of surgery, and at that time I could vaguely feel stiff movements in my nose, but I’m someone who tolerates pain well, so it wasn’t too hard. But for some reason, the back of my head from lying down hurt so much that that was harder lol. After the surgery ended and I went to the recovery room, from the moment I lay down there, I became insanely thirsty, my mouth was dry, and all I could think was that I should have just lived with the face I was born with and that I wanted to go homeㅠㅠ Still, they said I had to see the director before leaving, so I saw them. Right after surgery, before putting the splint on in the operating room, they personally took photos, and while showing me those photos, they said it came out even better than expected. I think that helped calm me down a bit. And maybe because it was right after surgery, they showed me the shape before the swelling became really severe, so I don’t think I had the so-called mental spiral lol.

But I had surgery on Tuesday, and Wednesday was their day off, so I was supposed to have the cotton in my nostrils removed on Thursday, you know? Wow... I didn’t know not being able to breathe through your nostrils could be this hard.. Even when sleeping, I kept waking up like I was about to stop breathing, but somehow I adapted, and when I went to have it removed on Thursday, they told me that even though it’s hard, keeping the cotton in properly helps with hemostasis, so it helps with swelling. After taking out the cotton, I also got a swelling laser treatment that day before leaving. I think I received the swelling laser as many times as I possibly could. And then the long-awaited 7th day, when the splint came off!! I was flustered by my glabella that looked so much like Avatar and by the overcorrection, but honestly, I had gone into nose surgery knowing it is a surgery that has to be viewed over a long period, so I don’t think it bothered me that much. After that, I kept getting laser treatments, iced diligently, and walked a lot, and the major swelling went down quickly. But the fight with the runny nose that no one told me about.. I had seen reviews saying that because the nose hairs are gone, the nose runs easily, but I think it literally ran 24 hours a day. While eating, while walking outside too, and since it was winter and cold, I think that also played a part. Because mucus kept collecting, the wound around the columella really didn’t heal wellㅠㅠ In the end, I got injections to suppress the runny nose about twice and also kept taking medicine for a runny nose. Then from week 4, the runny nose gradually decreased, but it still runs slightlyㅠㅠ lolol

Now that I’m at week 7, the hardness and pulling around the columella have loosened a lot, and I don’t feel much discomfort in daily life! I already really like my side profileㅠㅠ I only got my nose done, but my side profile changed from an overall flat-looking face to one with volume!! It’s seriously so fascinating.. When I look in the mirror, I can’t really tell about the swelling, but when I take photos, it still seems like there’s a long way to go haha. The major swelling is gone and it’s residual swelling now, so it probably needs more time. Still, people around me didn’t even notice I had my nose done because I didn’t tell them? They just said my face became really slim, that it looked like I lost weight, and my mom says my image has become more intellectual, so she likes it even more than I do lol. But when I smile, my expression is still really awkward and unnatural! I used to show a lot of gum when I smiled, but now I feel like my upper teeth don’t show completely. But it’s better than right after surgery, so with time, it’ll become natural like before, right? Many people have a hard time after surgery, but maybe because this is just my personality, I’m living without too much worry.

But if someone told me to do nose surgery again, I don’t think I couldㅠㅠ Since it definitely changes the impression of your face, if you’re wavering and agonizing like I was, please think carefully about nose surgery, and I hope you only get good results!!
