I’ve wanted double eyelid surgery so badly since I was young, so after thinking and thinking, I got consultations in Gwangju (I’m from outside Seoul). I went to 3 places, and I wanted non-incisional!! I wanted to avoid canthoplasty and ptosis correction as much as possible, and I wanted a thin in-out line. I also used double eyelid tape for 2 to 3 years, so I do have some skin laxity.
1. ㅁㄷㅍ I went because I heard it was famous, and there was a wait. I brought photos and showed them. They recommended incision rather than buried sutures, but said buried sutures were not completely impossible. Canthoplasty recommendation X, ptosis correction X They said this while making a line on my eyes. Buried sutures = 990,000 won Incision = 1,200,000 won The doctor somehow did not feel like they were speaking with full certainty, I guess. The consultant also spoke in a way that suggested we should go in the direction I wanted. They said it would be done under local anesthesia. 2. ㅅㅌㄹㅌ I went because my friend had it done there. The consultation waiting area had partitions, so it was private and nice. There was a wait. I liked that the doctor analyzed my eyes in great detail while explaining things. They mostly talked about my uneven eyes, and most of what they said focused on surgery to correct the asymmetry. I brought photos and showed them. They did not even consider non-incisional surgery. When I said I had used double eyelid tape, they said my eyelids had stretched. They recommended incision + medial epicanthoplasty on one eye + ptosis correction. Medial epicanthoplasty + incision = 2,000,000 They said since I came through a friend’s recommendation, care would be included too, but I don’t remember the name.

Even though I booked a late appointment, there was a wait. As soon as I arrived, they took side and front photos. During the consultation while looking at the photos, they said if I wanted a low line, they recommended an inline. But they said everyone who did that regretted it, so they recommended setting the line higher than the line I had in mind. At the previous clinic, they talked about my uneven eyes, so I was bothered and mentioned it, and they said it was because only one side had a double eyelid. I also have never thought my eyes were very uneven, and I’ve never heard that from anyone before. They also recommended ptosis correction. They said buried sutures were possible and that I did not need canthoplasty. When I asked about the line a few more times, they made the line directly for me. I was surprised because the consultant was very professional. She also made a line for me and showed me a few example photos. The consultant’s eyes were so much my desired style that I looked at them a few times, and maybe she noticed, because she told me she had surgery there, so I said I wanted something like that (though it’s probably better not to trust it 100%). I said I didn’t want my eyes to look sharp and asked about ptosis correction, and they said since it would be non-incisional ptosis correction, it would not make my eyes look sharp. They told me to choose between sedation or local anesthesia myself. Buried sutures + ptosis correction = 1,320,000
Since I used double eyelid tape for 2 to 3 years, I guess the skin laxity can’t be helped. They say I can do only buried sutures, but they recommend incision more, and because they recommend buried sutures + ptosis correction, I don’t know where to go. I think natural-looking results are the most important, and if possible, I want non-incisional surgery. I want to avoid ptosis correction + canthoplasty, and after going around, my head has actually gotten more complicated. Please give me advice!! I hope people outside Seoul also get good information from my consultation-round review!!
