I decided on surgery because of my asymmetric eyes and double eyelids that would come undone when I was tired. I was going to just live with it if possible...ㄷㄷ Since the eye sizes themselves were different, there was a limit to covering it with makeup, and it was hard. Especially, it was stressful when photos taken by other people made the asymmetry look so obviousㅠㅠ Now I’ve overcome my complex after surgery! For people like me, I’m posting how I chose my clinic haha.
First, when I went around for double-eyelid surgery consultations, what I checked most carefully was the surgical method. This is very obvious, but to use my story as an example, I went to quite a few clinics for double-eyelid surgery consultations, and the surgical methods they recommended were all different. The most common incision method, buried-suture method, ptosis correction, partial incision, things like that? But you know incision is generally more expensive than buried-suture, right?... haha Even if your eyes are fully possible with the buried-suture method, there will definitely be at least one clinic that recommends incision plus ptosis correction ㄷㄷ But if you only visit one or two places, there’s really no way to know what surgical method suits your eyes, so I recommend going to as many consultations as possible. Second, ask the clinic to show you review photos~~~~~!!!! The cosmetic surgery apps you commonly know are highly likely to have photos uploaded after secondary retouching. So just use them as a reference to some extent, and at the clinic ask them to show you photos taken by month after surgery. That’s the most accurate!!
Third is the director’s experience~ Things like “I heard online this director has this many years of experience” should also just be used as reference, and ask directly when you go for the consultation. There are cases where what you find online differs from the actual experience. It’s only hard to ask at first; once you do it, it’s okay! It’s also good to ask about the number of surgeries, because experience does not always proportionally equal number of surgeries.
