I really... got a lot of help from this communityㅠㅠ Thanks to that, I chose a hospital and had surgery I'll write it down like notes..
1. Aesthetic satisfaction: ☆☆☆☆ - They said they couldn't shave much because my nerve line was low, but I think it would have been a disaster if they had shaved more. Even if my face isn't extremely small, my satisfaction when tying my hair up increased, and I gained confidence in photos others take of me from far away - I developed cheek hollowing, so after the doctor monitored the progress, they did an after-service correction for me (1 year later). The swelling from the cheek hollowing didn't last long, and my satisfaction with that area increased! - However, strangely, after the cheekbone surgery, I feel like my eyes became a bit fiercer and my eye-smile disappeared. This is definite.. My eyes used to fold like a bow when I smiled, but it changed to a feeling like the raised cheekbones push my eyes upward a bit(?) I told the doctor about this, but they said they had never seen anyone complain about their eyes and that it wasn't something they could fix, so I still wonder whether I am just being sensitive.. Maybe it is because of the trapezoid osteotomy(?) - I do have sagging under my chin.. I don't have much facial fat and my skin is on the thin side, but there is definitely sagging that is different from before! But it's slight, and not bothersome to an extreme degree (though I did get contour injections recently)
2. Safety-related(?) satisfaction: ☆☆☆ - About half a year after surgery, while eating a normal meal (no meat), I heard a sharp crack!!! from one cheekbone, and it sounded as if two sticky pieces of starch syrup had been forcibly pulled apart.. After that, when I chewed on that cheekbone side, I felt pressure running from my teeth up to my cheekbone and couldn't chew well. Even when applying skin lotion, if I massaged that area in circles, I felt a very slight rattling...??? so I visited the hospital several times, and the doctor took a CT for free. They said there was no problem and that I seemed sensitive, so I kept leaving it alone, but I was anxious and couldn't trust the CT, so we decided to open up the cheekbone.. When they opened it, the plate had loosened, so in the end I had surgery to refix the plate.
3. General anesthesia, swelling, and scars: ☆ - It was my first time ever having general anesthesia, and honestly, as soon as I opened my eyes, I thought I wanted to die (personal opinion). I tend to get motion sickness badly, so I kept feeling nauseated and wanted to vomit.. When I had dry heaves and lowered my head, nosebleed dripped from my nose, and from right after surgery they didn't let me drink water for quite a long time, so it was truly unbearable. I kept spitting out bloody phlegm and wiping nosebleeds, and while trying not to swell from crying, I barely managed to collect my emotions. That whole process is a memory I never want to go through again.. sob sob - On the second day, after they removed the blood drainage tube and I went home to sleep, it was even more intense. From the second day, my face started swelling in earnest, to a point that even the bandage? splint? couldn't handle, and because of that, even breathing was difficult. In the end, I stayed awake all dawn and burst into tears... Monster swelling lasted two months, major swelling lasted four months, and minor swelling lasted 9 months to 1 year. The incision marks near the sideburns were also noticeable until 9 months. I was careful in case I tucked my hair behind my ears, and I applied regeneration cream until 1 year.
4. Hospital aftercare: ☆☆☆ - All the above aftercare measures were things I received through a process... where I felt they would have been hard to get if I had spoken too nicely. Still, since they did them for free, I wonder if I should be satisfied. I don't know what other hospitals are like..
5. Additional - The sensory issue, which I went into surgery knowing nothing about.. All my other sensations returned quickly, but it took 6 to 9 months for sensation in my lower jaw to return.. At first, I felt nothing, so while eating, soup would just spill out and I wouldn't even know... Gradually only a heavy sensation came back, and later when I drank water, it felt like I was pouring all the water onto my lower jaw. I worried that the sensation might not come back, but eventually it did. It was really scary T-T
What I want to say to people who have not had surgery yet is.. communicate with your doctor very, very thoroughly so things can turn out the way you want, and please go somewhere with good aftercare. In my opinion, it seems like such a dangerous and major surgery(!) Personally, I emphasized that I wanted a very kind and gentle impression and absolutely did not want a dog-like jaw, but more of the jaw under the ears remained than I expected, and the jawline is a bit sharp, so even though I moved my chin backward, my chin looks a bit heavy(?) protruding(?) to me. It may all be because I'm sensitive..ㅠㅠ Another hospital had told me not to do jaw surgery and recommended various other things, so I keep wondering, would it have been better if I had done that? In the end, I'm looking for hospitals again..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But the memory of facial contouring surgery is so overwhelming that I can't easily decide even on a lighter surgery.
