Before<Before>After<After>Before<Before>After<After>It’s been 4 months since I had abdominal liposuction + pelvic fat grafting at the clinic. It’s been quite a while since the surgery, and these are the only photos I took, but I’m posting them to share informationㅎ.. Even when I lost weight, only my lower abdomen was always protruding, and I had a straight waist with no pelvis, so in summer I always covered up with rash guards or thin clothes that didn’t reveal my body line. That was seriously stressfulㅜㅜ I saw on YouTube that if the strength supporting the buttocks is lacking, the abdomen naturally protrudes, and this can only get worse over time, so you need to stabilize your core. But I didn’t even understand what that meant, and exercise isn’t something you do for just a day or two; they said you have to keep doing it consistently for years to barely see results. So I think I went for a consultation thinking, if that’s the case, I might as well borrow the power of medicine.
There were about three directors, and among them, I liked Dr. Seo Chang-sik’s reviews the most, so I designated him. He seemed very decisive and confident. At other hospitals, one suddenly recommended a lift, another told me to get full-body liposuction, and it felt like, “If you do what I tell you, the surgery will go well, so what are you worried about?” That made me feel uneasy.
Honestly, the prices varied wildly by hospital. Some places were expensive, some were cheaper than I expected, so I was unsure. But in the case of the hospital where I had surgery, they had fixed pricing, so the price didn’t go up and down, which I really liked. When I first booked the consultation, they said it was fixed pricing so I could just come in comfortably, and I thought they were just saying that.. so I went to the consultation without thinking much. But there was a price list plainly posted on the wall of the consultation room with the consultant, and I was culture-shockedㅋㅋㅋ I had consultations at other hospitals too, but nowhere disclosed everything this transparently, from additional fee criteria to supplementary procedures.
Unlike eye surgery or nose surgery, where you focus on one area, this is body surgery, so the risks are higher too (and it’s not exactly a cheap surgery either..). I thought it would be important to operate in a way that suited my existing body, and among the hospitals I looked into, this clinic seemed the best. More than anything, I felt like they would reflect my needs well, so I paid the reservation deposit without much hesitation.
The consultant in charge of me was a bit older, but unlike other hospitals, she wasn’t the type to suddenly start a power struggle or pressure me, so it was nice that I could ask questions right away whenever I had any. From making aftercare appointments to when sutures would be removed after surgery, when I could shower, how to disinfect, and so on, communication was possible even on weekends or late evenings, so it was convenient thanks to her~
I think the pain lasted about 2–3 days, but maybe because it was handmade, recovery was quick and the bruising faded quickly too. I heard from a friend who had surgery at another hospital that if you get surgery from a director with good hand technique, there is less bleeding, so there isn’t much bruising or swelling. I guess that was true;; As for the engraftment rate, which I was most worried about, of course some volume decreased compared with the beginning, but not to a worrying level. I’m satisfied enough that I feel I don’t necessarily need a second round. Other hospitals say a second round is basic, and if it’s insufficient, they even proceed to a third round, but this clinic’s style is to put in a lot during the first round, so I think the advantage is that you can finish it in one go.
One thing I was worried about was that they don’t have you wear a compression garment. But since I was going to do fat grafting too anyway, I thought not wearing compression would be better for the engraftment rate. Also, after seeing posts in a cafe saying that marks left from being pressed by the seams didn’t disappear even after a long time, I became unnecessarily anxiousㅠㅠㅠ Thinking about it again now, because it’s a hospital that doesn’t require compression garments, blood circulation is good, so naturally recovery is fast and there are no restrictions on daily life. I think it would be good even for people planning surgery in the summer.
Oh, and this clinic has a separate care center, so it’s convenient that you can receive care privately. Unlike other hospitals, they say even people who had surgery at other hospitals can use it. As it happened, my friend had liposuction at another hospital around the same time as me, but her hospital was far and only offered radiofrequency treatment, so she’s paying separately to go there. She was worried about scars after surgery, so I connected her with the consultant who handled me, and she was so happy...ㅋㅋㅋ
For the first month, they said I shouldn’t lose weight, so I only did walking exercise. After that, I started going to the gym and managing my diet. If you take good care of yourself afterward, the results are definitely satisfying. After becoming an adult, I kept going through repeated yo-yo weight changes and was worn down by company dinners and late-night snacks, so I only wore loose or oversized clothes. But after experiencing liposuction + fat grafting, these days I only wear tight clothes. For those who prefer a thin-waist, wide-pelvis style and want a liposuction-specialized hospital with solid aftercare, definitely get a consultation!!!
