Before and after before and after Hello. I’ve worked my whole life in a field where appearance matters and I’m a former designer turned live commerce host who has directly and indirectly experienced being pushed back because I wasn’t recognized for my looks even when my abilities were the same.
Even as I got older, I wanted to be pretty, so in my own way, rather than surgery, I focused on treatments, and rather than leaving things that would remain in my skin, I chose treatments that would help my skin regenerate. I’ve had many procedures like that.
Even so, there were a few things I really wanted to have done and one of them was my nose. But in real life, I never felt like my nose was a problem.
Just a cute bulbous nose, lol My eyes and mouth are so big and distinct, so I thought maybe it was okay if the nose got a little overshadowed.
But once I started broadcasting, I began to look at my face more objectively and compare it with other broadcasters’ faces.
On screen, my face can look quite flat, and to me, that was definitely because of my nose!!! Come to think of it, most people who work in broadcasting had nose surgery, too!
Actually, even before surgery, my nose wasn’t low. Compared with a high bridge, the area between the eyes was low, the tip was a little over-rounded, and the short bridge was what I thought was the problem.

The clinic branding and the interior design were so clean and beautifully precise.
The consultation was based on a 3D scan of my face.
The director consulted me personally, and that was excellent. Usually the consultation staff meet you first, and then you end up seeing the director already in a bad mood, or the director only barely gets to see your face. (And the director is so handsome. No, how could he even study with a face like that? So amazing.) From the entrance through the consultation and even postoperative care, OUR was so, so, so kind, so of course I was very happy.
But honestly, once a clinic gets bigger, this part may be unavoidable. So the fact that it was a clinic run by a director who had recently opened after coming from a large hospital was a very important reason I chose this place. (With the skill to satisfy the general public at a large hospital, they’ll definitely pay even more attention!)
Many people said nose surgery hurts a lot, but I wasn’t in much pain. It was just hard because the cotton blocking my nose made my mouth dry.
Still, with a mask covering it, I could think it looked less obvious, and I felt more at ease......
Since it was done under sedation, I didn’t bring a car. Seeing my reflection in the subway window, I thought the paper bag from the plastic surgery clinic was cute and felt happy. The branding was well done :) (I was moved by a weird detail)
How grateful I was to be able to breathe through my nose. For the one day my nose was blocked, I felt it so strongly while breathing through my mouth.
After a day, I removed the cotton blocking my nose. My face was even more swollen than on the day of surgery.
I wore the splint like that for a few days, and they told me not to wash my face or shampoo my hair, but I couldn’t stand it, so I somehow washed my hair by tilting it back.
A week later, finally the day to remove the splint!!!!
Why did I become an even bigger bulbous-nose case? The side profile wasn’t bad, but seeing the front view shocked me and I really couldn’t keep my expression under control.
When I got home, no matter how much I thought about it, I felt like this wasn’t right, so I cried and complained to the clinic that something was wrong, and the director reassured me again that it was just swelling for now and the surgery had gone very well, so I decided to wait for now.
At that time, I had a mental breakdown thinking, why did I make my small bulbous nose into an even bigger bulbous nose by going through surgery?
I was so mad at the director I had trusted. I thought he would rebirth me as a beauty, but instead he made me look worse than before!!!!! Or so I thought.
Then, suddenly. First, on day 10, I searched for nose surgery day 10, and 'day 10 after nose surgery, nose blob' came up in related searches. Lolololololololololololol Ah... so I’m not the only one, that was reassuring.
After waiting a bit longer, the swelling definitely goes down, little by little.
Looking at it now, at two and a half weeks, I don’t think I’ll get the slim, pointy nose I first expected. But that seems to have been the director’s hidden move.
A lot of people didn’t even know I had had surgery. They preserved the original shape of my face as much as possible and made it look so naturally like it had always been that nose. But they clearly brought out the definition brilliantly.
It’s my own face, and I’m very visually sensitive anyway (designer background), so I can clearly feel that my face has definitely changed and become more refined.
What’s also fun is that after getting such a natural rhinoplasty, there are even celebrities I used to think, wow, that person really didn’t even have nose surgery, how can their eyes, nose, and mouth be so pretty? Now I’m starting to see, ah, they had work done.
I was surprised by how many people around me had had nose surgery. Everyone else was doing it to get prettier, except me!!
And many people thought my nose was already a nose that had been operated on more than once, ㅋㅋㅋㅋ They apparently never imagined I had never had nose surgery even once ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Yes, yes, this is my first surgery. (Revision is more expensive, so let’s do it right the first time.)
They say the final nose shape really settles by one month, and when I think of my aesthetic goal... it’s a little embarrassing to say it out loud, but it feels like a nose similar to Go Youn-jung’s, though definitely also different in many ways. I’m dreaming about whether it will become like that.
