Review of Revision Ptosis Correction Surgery (Revision Surgery for Loosened Eyes)

Before<Before>After<After>After<After>After<After>After<After>Almost 4-5 years? ago, I had non-incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction. I heard this from the hospital back then too, but they said my eye-opening strength was weak and the line wouldn’t fix well, so they didn’t recommend doing only double eyelid surgery. So even though it was my first surgery, I had ptosis correction done together. After about 4 years, my left eye kept coming undone (when I woke up, the double eyelid would disappear or multiple creases would form). People who’ve experienced it will know how insanely frustrating it is ,..ㅠ

Also, I originally had entropion (my eyelashes grew inward and poked my eye), so I went to an ophthalmology clinic, and they recommended entropion correction surgery. I wondered whether to do it at the ophthalmology clinic, but since my eye line had loosened and I was going to redo my double eyelid surgery, I looked into whether I could do this together. Then I found a hospital that does them together, made an appointment, and scheduled the surgery.

The first places I looked at were apps (yes, the ones many people here know!) Big hospitals do so many other surgeries that they felt very factory-like.. And since this was a revision surgery, I could only think that things like after-service or follow-up care would be too lackingㅠ So I looked for and went to a hospital many people choose for revision surgery, with a single director who specializes in eye surgery.

At the hospital where I had surgery, the director looked at my eyes and diagnosed that the ptosis correction itself had been done weakly, and the line had come completely undone to the point that the correction had barely any meaning. (tq my money..ㅋ they should’ve done it properly the first time) For the revision, he said there was no need to go as far as an incision, and that while resetting the line, we should redo ptosis correction with a non-incisional method. I also felt incision was too much, so I said okay.

Honestly, because it was revision surgery, I was really worried, but the line went up very naturally, just a little? And even at week 1, recovery seemed fast enough that I wasn’t too bothered by swelling. Before surgery, the hardest part was my eyelashes poking my eyesㅠㅠ Now, even when I look downward, they don’t poke my eyes, so everyday life is so~~ much more comfortableㅜㅜㅜ It’s really so lucky that I could get entropion treated together at a plastic surgery clinic.. Also, the director reflected my opinions well and, knowing I was upset because it was a revision, performed the surgery meticulously, which I liked.. Sweet director

Before, when I took selfies, the line would get buried and wasn’t visible, but now it shows just naturally enough? so I’m more satisfied. I wanted a subtle revision that wouldn’t be obvious, and except for my closest friends, nobody knows I had surgery. Such a win. Anyway.. It’s been a month now, and there’s much less swelling than I expected and recovery has been fast, so I’m living without any particular worries.
