4-Year Review of Double Eyelid Surgery in Daegu

Since this is outside Seoul, I’m posting because there seems to be little information about Daegu.

In winter 2017, I had incisional double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, and epicanthoplasty at a private clinic across from the Daebaek parking lot. Epicanthoplasty wasn’t in my plan, but after the director looked at my eyes (Mongolian folds, planned in-out line), he said it would be better to do epicanthoplasty. I felt trust because the director seemed confident in many ways, so I proceeded here.

As a result, double eyelid surgery was really a stroke of genius for me (in terms of both shape and function), but I do think I should have been more cautious about the epicanthoplasty. (Change in impression, scar care, etc.) Also, this clinic seems to be characterized by pursuing glamorous-looking eyes and swelling that lasts a long time. The line definitely gave me opened-up eyes with an in-out crease, and I’m satisfied with that. As for swelling, even when I think it has all gone down, when I compare photos, it still seems to be going down little by little. Also, as the swelling goes down, the horizontal length of the eyes becomes relatively more noticeable, and at that point I increasingly feel my eyes look a bit sharp, maybe because of the epicanthoplasty. I didn’t consider this during consultation, so the more the swelling goes down, the more I feel some regret. Still, overall, thanks to the eye shape and functional improvement from ptosis correction, I’ve been living satisfied.
