I had an autologous dermis procedure. Since I was afraid of implants and naturalness was my top priority, I chose autologous dermis even though it was my first surgery.
To be exact, it has been a little under 4 months. For 2-3 months, the Avatar look was really severe and uncomfortable, but now, if I wear glasses, it is not noticeable at all, and I don't feel it looks that obvious in the mirror either.
Surgical method: buttock autologous dermis + columella lowering + correction of upturned nose
1 month: My buttocks hurt... and the glabella was not just high but bulging, so I stayed at home.. The biggest drawback of autologous dermis is that recovery is tough.
2 months: My buttocks no longer hurt, and there is no problem with daily life. However, my eyes still looked pulled inward, so my face looked unfamiliar. I went shopping, and even though I was wearing a mask, because my glabella was high, someone asked me if I was a foreigner.
3 months: Everything is normal except that the glabella is high. The inconvenient part is that I still can't pick my nose? People around me also say it has become much more natural. There is slight pain when I touch the nasal tip. I'm gradually becoming more satisfied, so I'm looking forward to about 3 months from now.
I'll leave a few things people may be curious about regarding autologous dermis.
1. Recovery: Buttock pain - It is more bearable than expected. It didn't hurt much. But when cleaning up dog poop on the floor.. or when something fell, I couldn't bend down to pick it up.. so having to kneel down and pick it up was a bit of a hardship. Now I just do squats and deadlifts. However, during leg raises, if there is slight pressure, it does bother me a bit.
2. Avatar look: This is probably the biggest concern. But because of COVID, doesn't everyone wear masks? So strangers won't have any reason to notice, though acquaintances inevitably can tell.
If you have more questions, I'll answer in the comments.
