Before <how my cheeks looked hollow after liposuction> After <went away 20 days later> Before <basic neck fat> After <hard lumpiness in week 2> I did quite a lot of in-person and online research, including in communities, and got facial liposuction in early December. Now that it’s been a month, I still have swelling.
Because of year-end parties and New Year gatherings, friends I hadn’t seen in a while kept saying I’d gained weight, lost weight, asked what I did to my face, said I must have done something... everyone who saw me had something to say. The surgery turned out well, and I came here to get information on nose surgery too, so I’m posting this.
The thing I was most worried about with liposuction was skin sagging, and just like I worried, my jowls suddenly looked prominent, so I thought, wow, I’m screwed. It was all swelling. After surgery, until you’re close to filling out a month, it’s better for your mental health to avoid looking in the mirror as much as possible. After surgery, I exchanged comments with people who had the same surgery around the same time on communities and blogs, and eased my sense of crisis?? lol by worrying and chatting together.
Until my facial line became slim like I’d had jaw contouring, the swelling went up and down every day, bruising appeared and faded, over and over. But once I reached the one-month mark, the skin/fat started feeling like my own again, and right now it’s just right. I’m happiest because my face seems smaller!!
Oh, and one thing I was skeptical about: I couldn’t agree with reviews from other people saying you can return to daily life and go to work right after surgery. My swelling was also severe, and even though I work from home, normal daily life was really hard. My condition was really bad. I’m curious how everyone was able to eat well and go to work right away.
I had abdominal liposuction in the past, so I thought the face would be easy, but the face bothered me more, and the compression band made it harder. In terms of pain, abdominal liposuction is the number one of my life. In terms of mental energy drain, facial liposuction is bigger.
There’s exactly one thing I regret: not getting the surgery even one day sooner! I’m the type who thinks you should do anything even one day younger, and there’s a lot of talk that facial liposuction isn’t good as you get older. If you age and lose facial fat, it can actually be worse aesthetically.
No filler No thread lifting If you pursue a natural look and are considering facial liposuction for a double chin, just go for it. Especially for a double chin, it’s definitely a surgery where there’s absolutely nothing to lose.
I’m writing this for people like me who got sagging skin and hollow cheeks after surgery, to say don’t worry and just let time pass.
