8 years ago at ㄷㅇㅁㅇ in Gwangju, I had double eyelid surgery with an incisional method. Even right after surgery, the swelling was really severe, and the next day it was so swollen that I could barely open my eyesㅠㅠ.... Other people say that once the stitches are removed, the swelling goes down quickly... But even after my stitches were removed, I still had sausage eyelids. I naturally swell easily, so I thought the swelling in my eyes was just lasting a long time, and back then, not much time had passed, so I thought the swelling would keep going downㅠㅠ
Even after 6 months... 1 year, the swelling was still the same..? To me and to other people, the sausage eyelids looked so severe that I thought my double eyelid surgery had failed haha I didn’t know much back then, but now that I’ve studied sausage eyelids, I think my double eyelid line is high, but the fixation also seems to have been done way too deepㅠㅠㅠㅠ
And then I went to the clinic for my final follow-up. I told them my double eyelids were too thick and looked like sausage eyelids, but the answer I got back wasn’t an explanation about my eyes. They asked whether I had my nose done, and said I had a slightly retruded chin and asked if I’d considered chin implant surgery. That’s what they saidㅡㅡ; They said since I’d had eye surgery at their clinic, they’d give me a discount;
I had no intention of getting nose surgery or an implant anyway, but even if I did, this was the clinic that failed my surgery... Would I get it done there?
What I wanted to hear was a solution for my eyes that had turned into sausage eyelids, or the cause of the failure, but maybe they didn’t want to acknowledge my ruined eyes, so they didn’t answer and just kept talking about something else. I wasn’t planning to get revision surgery at that clinic anyway... People kept asking me for years, “Has it only been a month since your double eyelid surgery?” or “How long has it been since your surgery?” and it stressed me out, but from 4 years ago, I let it go. Since I started saying first that my double eyelid surgery failed and I ended up with sausage eyelids, it stressed me out a little less.
I kept thinking about revision surgery, but because I was worried, what if it failed again? I would look into clinics and then stop, over and over, but now I’ve made up my mind and I’m doing online research for revision surgery in Seoul and making a list!!
