I’m not usually the type to write things like this because I’m lazy.. but I wanted to keep a record, and I also got a lot of help from this community, so I’ll try writing a review~ Lately, somehow I’ve kept staying up all night, and if I want to fix my sleep schedule, I have to hold out until this evening... lololol
I think I spent about a month? going around for consultations.. Maybe because clinics are in peak season these days, it’s even hard to book consultations at well-known clinics ㅠㅠ.. I went to several clinics famous for facial contouring that I found through cafes and this community, but at some places, maybe they were brokers, because the reviews I saw online and the actual consultation were so different...ㅠㅠ One certain large clinic famous as a big hospital had me waiting for an hour, and the consultation was barely even 5 minutes.. The whole clinic felt chaotic.. and the director’s consultation was half-hearted too.... I really felt that consultations are different when you go in person.. But then when I came home and searched reviews of that clinic, they were all full of praise.. As I went to consultations and read reviews, I became more and more confused. So for internet reviews, I recommend taking about half of them in and filtering out the other half. If you keep looking through Naver cafes, Gangnam Unni, Babitalk, and so on, you start to get a rough sense of which places are using brokers... It’s hard to say exactly what the characteristics are, but if you keep looking, you’ll get a feel for it, so I hope you read a lot and go to many consultations too.. I chose my current clinic because the before-and-after photos they showed me had the facial line I wanted, and I liked the director’s surgical method. These days, ㅌㅋ seems to be popular in this community, but I only found out after I’d already had surgery, so it’s a little disappointing that I didn’t get to have a consultation there.
The pain level, which many of you are probably curious about... It will vary from person to person, but for me, it was tolerable to some extent. I’m originally pretty good at tolerating pain. I just woke up from sleep and the surgery was over, and after waking up, I was completely out of it.. My throat hurt like it was being torn apart, like when you have a severe sore throat... I was so out of it that I don’t remember much... I also felt extremely nauseous, like I had indigestion and was about to throw up... It felt like motion sickness in a car, but about 10 times worse? You can think of that exact feeling continuing for hours.... And I thought the swelling would be worst on the first day, but the swelling was actually worst on days 2-3.... After being discharged and looking in the mirror again at home, I almost fainted.... lolololololol My teeth were also sore and aching... When I lowered my head, I think my nose kept bleeding until day 3.. My throat was constantly dry too.. I was hungry but couldn’t eat anything proper... I couldn’t breathe properly either... It was tolerable “to some extent,” but if you ask whether it was very tolerable, no.. If I had to go back and experience it again, I’m not sure...
To reduce swelling, even though it was cold, I put on a long padded coat and went walking around from the beginning, overdoing it, but please don’t do that like I did.. It’s a relief I didn’t catch a cold. It was already hard to breathe in the beginning, and if I had caught a cold on top of that... that would have been awful...
After the dreaded days 2-3 passed, my swelling suddenly went down from day 4. Strangely... When I read lots of other people’s reviews, usually everyone is very swollen at one week, but strangely, I didn’t have that much swelling. Was it the effect of my intense walking?... I also drank a lot of bad-tasting pumpkin juice, but they say that doesn’t work, right? I feel wronged.... Those videos about the three medicines famous for reducing swelling? I only found out about those now..^^ Now that most of the major swelling is already gone, I feel wronged for finding out so late.. If I’d known earlier, I would have taken those instead of drinking pumpkin juice...
After spending the post-op period in such a daze, it’s already been almost a month. From week 2, the swelling started to plateau, and once I passed week 3, the swelling suddenly went down again. The human body really is amazing, I think. Even after being cut and shaved like that, it recovers again...
In the beginning, because of the tightness inside my mouth and not being able to breathe properly, until about day 3 I think I slightly regretted it, like, why did I get this surgery? But people’s minds are so fickle. From day 4, once the swelling went down and I could live a bit more comfortably, my mind changed to, oh, I think I did well getting the surgery...
Now, about a month later, the pain, numb aching feeling, and jaw tightness have all gotten better, and I’m doing well. I can fit about two fingers into my mouth (even originally, I wasn’t someone who could open my mouth very wide), and I’m eating pretty normally too... Because facial contouring surgery changes the face shape, many people think of it as very dramatic and easier than it really is (I did too), but after experiencing it myself, I don’t think it’s a surgery to take lightly. I hope everyone searches carefully, reads lots of reviews, gets many consultations, and chooses a good clinic.
