Calf Botox Review

I’m writing this for people who may feel flustered because they expected their calves to become beautiful as if by magic after getting calf Botox, but the reality was different from what they imagined. These are just my impressions from getting it over several years, written without medical knowledge, so please use them only as reference.

I recommend calf Botox only for muscular calves. If, when you look at your calves, you can see bunched-up muscle and there is quite a bit of volume from it, this is a procedure that can produce a dramatic effect. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it for people with fat-type calves. You probably will not get the level of effect you expect.

Calf Botox takes effect later than jaw Botox and similar treatments. For me, it always seems to look the prettiest around half a year after getting it. If you want to wear shorts or skirts in summer and show off your legs, I recommend getting it at least by spring.

Also, when you get Botox for the first time, other surrounding muscles take over the role of the muscle reduced by Botox, so compensatory muscles develop. Because of the reduced muscle, that contrast can look even more noticeable, making the line look less pretty. At that point, you need to get Botox in those surrounding muscles as well to refine them in order to get a pretty line.

When performing Botox, some doctors inject it slowly and heavily into the designed areas like a regular injection, while others inject it briefly and quickly many times, like felting. It hurts more, but I was more satisfied when I got it from the felting-style doctors. When I received it like a regular injection, slight muscle indentations were visible. I’m not worried because it all comes back anyway, but it is a bit bothersome.
