I’ve paid deposits at two clinics, so I’m in a situation where I have to decide within a week. (At one place, I heard a definite answer that cancellation and refund are 100% possible, set a date, and paid the deposit. At the other place, I didn’t really set a confirmed date, but they told me to pay a 100,000 won deposit before leaving, so I kind of fumbled and just paid.) I can’t make the decision easily, so for now I’m just rambling.
First of all, I’m aiming for a glamorous line.
1. First clinic, director ㄷㅇㅇ ㄱㅎㄱ There aren’t many reviews, but during the consultation, he marked the line amazingly well. He explained the surgical method in detail, saying that if it goes in like this on my eyes, it would come out pretty, and he marked the line several times. I had consultations with three directors only at this clinic, and he was the kindest and looked at me the most comfortably. But there was honestly something just 2% lacking at night, like trust? He was so accommodating that it felt a bit soulless.. maybe..? (ex. It’ll turn out so pretty, I’ll do a good job for you~~) I felt that very slightly. But among the few review photos, there was a photo with exactly the vibe I wanted most, and he accurately caught what kind of vibe I wanted and why I was getting revision surgery!
All three directors said the surgical method had to be incisional. (So I thought my eyes must be the kind that need incisional surgery.)
2. Second clinic, director ㅍ ㄱㄷㄱ He’s extremely famous for eyes, has tons of reviews, and is a director people recognize when it comes to glamorous results. But first of all, I waited 2 hours. Before going, they told me about five hundred times by text and phone that there would be some waiting, so I was roughly aware, but honestly, after waiting two hours, I just wanted to go home while waiting ㅜㅜ And what was unusual here was that the consultant first marked my eye line. At this point I thought to myself that I had wasted two hours, but she kept explaining that if I go into surgery, the director will~ and that they do it properly before going into surgery… People who are sensitive about this probably couldn’t get surgery here?? I roughly had a consultation about my needs, and then the director came. He marked the line on my eyes, but the line was just so-so… What I wanted was epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty, but he said I don’t have much space for lateral canthoplasty, so we would need to do lateral + lower canthoplasty to create a lateral canthoplasty effect, and when he pressed down for the lower canthoplasty, hmm… he pressed so much that I wondered, what is this? Also, while I showed him the photo I wanted and explained, my eyes are short and round, while the photo had long and large eyes. I wanted to get as close to that feeling as possible with my own eyes, but the director said he was a little worried that I might think surgery would change them super dramatically, like the photo, and then left. I was like, huh, again… So I told the consultant that since this is a revision surgery I’m paying a lot of money for, if they’re saying there won’t be much difference, I don’t really want to do it. She said that wasn’t the case and that my eyes could definitely come out glamorous enough. Then we looked at unedited clinic-use photos, and I ended up being persuaded by the statement that he does canthoplasty sharply well, so I made a tentative reservation. Now that I think about it, that was also said by the consultant, not the director…
But on the other hand, this director is already very famous for eyes and has a huge number of reviews. So I’m searching hard and trying to find more.
The first clinic’s surgical method is incisional, and the second clinic’s surgical method is something similar to natural adhesion. This also makes choosing a headache.
To begin with, I already had double eyelids and had surgery with natural adhesion about 5 years ago, but now almost all my double eyelid line has come down, so I’m trying to get revision surgery. Of course, the second director’s surgical method is said to be strong, almost similar to incisional surgery, but I do see occasional reviews saying it came undone. But I’m also scared that if I get incisional surgery, I might be left with that characteristic sausage-eye look..? Or a thick scar..?
To summarize,
Director 1 accurately understands my needs and is kind. He explains the surgical method well, and I don’t have any aversion to factory-style clinics. But I’m worried because there aren’t many reviews. The fact that it’s incisional is both something I like and something I’m worried about. Later, I’m planning to ask the assigned consultant whether, if I get surgery, they do local anesthesia, wake me up, and ask me to blink.
Director 2 has a very firm personal style, but since I like glamorous results too, that’s okay. The surgery time is short, and they said the design is done in great detail in the operating room. They said because he has done a lot of surgeries, swelling and bruising may be less. (For now, recovery should be faster than incisional surgery, right..?) They said during surgery I’ll sleep briefly and mostly be awake while they check the condition of my eyes during surgery. (This also gave me some trust. During my first eye surgery, there was no “please blink your eyes” or anything like that ㅜㅜ)
To be honest, I’ve seen so many cases where lower canthoplasty revision surgeries went wrong, so I didn’t really want lower canthoplasty, but the second clinic’s director pulled my lower canthoplasty area so much, and the fact that the consultant explained everything is bothering me. If it weren’t for that, I honestly would have chosen the second clinic. But if the director I met after waiting two hours was so busy that he had to rush off like that, why did I even make a reservation? ㅜㅜ From the start, they said it was hard to book the head director, so I called on 12/22 and booked for 1/2…
The one performing the surgery is the director, so I want to hear it from him directly. Should I just go around for consultations again..? Do I have to take another 100,000 won round-trip train, go to Suseo, take the Suin-Bundang or whatever line, transfer to Line 2… Please send some famous plastic surgery clinics down to the provinces..ㅋᩚㅋᩚㅋᩚ
I’m really going to lose my mind ^^
