Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> After <after surgery> This is my one-month review after posterior and lower canthoplasty for giraffe-like eyes! I had surgery with Director Song Hoon on June 9, and it has been about one month. I was always very stressed because my eyes were small and constricted, tilted upward and closed-looking, with parts of my irises covered by skin, and I decided to have surgery to improve my cold and strong impression. There were reviews saying the waiting time was long, but when I visited at my consultation time, I was able to start the consultation right away! The consultant was kind, and since she had also had this surgery herself, I was able to hear a more vivid review and receive a more detailed consultation. I was also aware that Girin Plastic Surgery performs posterior and lower canthoplasty using a method different from other plastic surgery clinics, but I did not really understand what kind of surgical method it was. I was able to confirm this clearly during the consultation with the director! Honestly, he must repeat the same explanation many times to many patients, but the way he explained everything kindly and in detail as if it were the first time made me trust him! During the surgery, local anesthesia was performed briefly while I was under sedation, so I did not feel the pain of the anesthesia. There were some uncomfortable parts during the surgery, but there was no major pain. However, they insert something like an eye protector? and there was slight pain then, so it would be good to keep that in mind! I think the surgery took about an hour and a half to two hours, but maybe because of the aftereffects of sedation, it passed in a dazed state without pain. Right after surgery, my eyes could not focus well and they looked uneven, so I was worried this might not go back to normal, but it returned within 1-2 hours, so no worries. Because my eyes swelled unevenly during surgery, I was very worried that my eyes would settle in that state or that this shape would be the final shape, but since he is a famous director, I trusted him and waited. As expected, after one and two weeks passed, they returned to a normal eye shape. Also, from right after surgery until about one week, even when I looked straight ahead, it felt like my gaze was fixed upward? When looking at people, it felt like I was looking toward the top of their head, but that also returned to normal after about a week! The swelling was worst on days 3-4, and after stitch removal on day 8, the swelling went down quickly. As the swelling subsided, the eye shape and conjunctival edema I had been worried about also improved a lot! The major swelling has all gone down after about one month, and I am waiting for the minor swelling to go down. My eyes opened up exactly as much as I wanted, and it does not look too obvious that I had surgery, so I am living very satisfied! I hope this helps everyone a lot!
