1-Year Review of Ptosis Correction + 4-Way Canthoplasty + Natural Adhesion Double Eyelid Surgery

Hello! This is my 1-year review of ptosis correction, 4-way canthoplasty, and natural adhesion double eyelid surgery! First of all, I wasn’t really interested in plastic surgery, but my mom took me to the clinic and told me to get it done quickly when I had time lol. I joined this community after the surgery too. The doctor actually discussed the consultation more with my mom than with me lol. I think I just said I wanted it to look natural. Honestly, I was scared it might fail, and I thought a thick line wouldn’t suit me, so I only hoped for something around an in-out line, but looking at the result, I think it became a slightly ambiguous semi-line! Maybe because I had so many procedures done on my eyes, the swelling and bruising were really severe. I thought they looked a bit uneven, so for about a week I resented my mom and just looked at plastic surgery reviews all day lolㅠㅠㅠ Still, as time passed, all the swelling went down, and in the end I think my eyes became kind of natural yet defined?

Looking more closely, the eye lines do seem slightly uneven, but the doctor had told me in advance that my eyes were originally asymmetrical, so the lines could be a little different. I wasn’t expecting that level of detail anyway, so I’m satisfied. Once the swelling went down completely, the lines became almost similar, so it’s not really enough to bother me.

Since it was natural adhesion, even though the line is a bit thick, it definitely seems natural. For those getting natural adhesion or non-incisional buried sutures, if you want natural yet defined or glamorous eyes but are scared it might look unnatural, you might choose an inline crease. But I think it’s okay to want a little more after looking at reviews and having consultations, so don’t regret it. I had canthoplasty in all directions, east, west, north, and south. The difference isn’t dramatic, but I still feel my eyes got naturally bigger in a way that suits natural yet defined eyes. I think the doctor didn’t go too aggressively with the canthoplasty.

The surgical swelling and bruising were really bad on the first day, and I think I couldn’t go outside for a month. I was also so anxious that I might end up with sausage eyes ㅠㅠ But as many people said, the swelling all goes down, so you don’t need to worry. I recommend watching the progress for at least about 6 months. By 6 months, the thickness was at a level where I could walk around satisfied, and after 1 year, I think it became completely natural. From about 1 to 3 months, I touched my eyes carefully, but after that I got lazy and even when removing makeup, I just pulled at them while washing lol. Still, I don’t recommend doing that.

My eyes were originally monolids, but they were big eyes. They did look a bit sleepy though. When doing makeup, I used double eyelid tape to make an inline crease. After eye surgery, my eyes became more glamorous, so my impression looked more bright and alert, and my makeup seemed more glamorous too. I got more compliments on my appearance after the surgery, so I think getting it done was better lol.

The lines are a little uneven, and maybe because of the ptosis correction and 4-way canthoplasty, my pupils look a bit smaller, so I think I developed very slight sanpaku eyes. I also changed to slightly larger contact lenses. Still, it’s not enough to bother me, so I’m completely satisfied. Since I got it done without much information or interest in plastic surgery, maybe my standards for satisfaction are low lol. Still, people who saw me said I did well to get it done, and I also felt like taking selfies became more enjoyable when I wore makeup.

First of all, I really understand how anxious you can feel after surgery because of swelling, so I want to say to just wait for now. It’s not like you can get revision surgery right away anyway, so I think it’s best to carefully manage the swelling, take the prescribed medications properly, take good photos, and try to forget about it a little while living your life ㅠㅠ People say that once one plastic surgery procedure goes well, you start wanting to get other areas done too, but the anxiety back then was so hard for me that I don’t feel like getting plastic surgery again ㅠㅠ

I wrote this in such a vague way that the content may be a bit strange, but thank you for reading anyway!
