Eye Surgery Reviews@eye-review

Review of my first double eyelid surgery on hidden double eyelids that seems to have succeeded(?)

Before <I barely have any photos left> After <this is the photo from day 1> Before <4 days later> Before <the day I went to get the stitches removed> Before <a few days ago> I wasn’t going to write a review... I don’t like writing reviews either, and at the clinic, the consultant said there was a discount if I wrote a review, but I said I wouldn’t take the discount and wouldn’t write a review either.. So the cost was a bit high. I think other people can get a discount if they say they’ll write a review.........

I’m kind of the type who makes things harder for myself.

1. What’s the point of getting something and the surgery turning out pretty? The goal is to find a doctor who does well even without that. 2. A doctor who only does surgeries they’re comfortable with X, a doctor who can meet every patient’s needs O 3. And if the clinic doesn’t make writing a review a condition, if the surgery goes well, won’t customers naturally write one?

For the reasons above, I used myself as a guinea pig(?)... and decided on the surgery. I was honestly anxious until the day of surgery. About a week before, I even posted in a community that I was anxious (I’m easily scared, please understand).

Desired look: really natural, just a slightly improved version of my own eyes, hidden double eyelids, almost invisible when I open my eyes wide and visible when I open them more loosely, inline crease, eyes like actor Lee Do-hyun’s.

On consultation day, the plan was ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty + double eyelid surgery (natural adhesion), but after diligently looking around communities... I thought I didn’t need ptosis correction for my first surgery, and I was worried it might look too intense if overcorrected, so I told them I didn’t want ptosis correction.

Friends around me who had double eyelid surgery also stopped me, saying if ptosis correction goes wrong, you’re screwed, so I was like, okay, then let’s double down! and proceeded.

In the end, I only did double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty. For the epicanthoplasty, I asked the doctor not to open it excessively, and to make the crease as low and thin as possible.

The director pursues natural beauty, so I did think we would be a good fit.

They were very calm-spoken and kind, so I think I trusted them... And before surgery I said I wouldn’t do ptosis correction, and they said it was fine and that if I wanted, I didn’t have to do it.

I liked that they didn’t insist only on their own surgical method, but cared about the patient’s wishes and didn’t pressure me. At the first consultation, I also asked about lateral canthoplasty and things like that, and they told me I didn’t need to do things that weren’t necessary, so I felt a bit of trust.

From the moment I came out after surgery on the first day, my mom and aunt who went with me said there was hardly any bruising or swelling, so apparently they were really looking forward to how it would look after the stitches were removed.

The uncomfortable things during recovery were eye discharge + dry eyes (I’ve always had this). Also, until the one-month mark, when I woke up, my eyes would be swollen or the double eyelids felt a bit prominent.

I don’t know whether the swelling will go down more or not. I hope there won’t be any more change in the crease. I really like it now.

It seems to have gone well without side effects, and I’m satisfied because it has the naturalness I wanted. Especially ptosis correction!!!! I’m really glad I didn’t do it. Even now my eyes are round and clear! If I had done ptosis correction on top of this, I would have looked super intense.

I was anxious in case something went wrong, but I still don’t regret the choice.

I don’t think I’ll have revision surgery. I’ll live like this, and if it loosens!!! then I think I’ll go to the same director.

It’s not that I dislike the crease or anything. If there’s a downside, it’s that I have to completely change my eye makeup method.

Satisfaction: ☆☆☆☆☆ Pain: ☆ Clinic satisfaction: ☆☆☆☆ (So many people came that it felt like a factory-style clinic... and the wait time was extremely long...)
