I originally had monolids, and in the second year of living with double-eyelid glue and double-eyelid tape every day, my mother recommended double eyelid surgery, saying my eyes would get stretched out, so I got it done! At the time, I had the surgery at SM Plastic Surgery, where a friend from the same school had gotten double eyelid surgery. Since I lived outside Seoul, I didn’t look into many plastic surgery clinics and decided on this place right away. I had natural adhesion double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty, and the surgery took about an hour and a half? or so. I was in my second year of high school then, so I went with my parents, and I remember going once a week later to have the stitches removed and check the progress.
I’m the type who stays swollen for a long time, so I was quite swollen for about a year or two, which was a bit upsetting, but now it looks very natural, so I’m considering revision surgery.
Still, even though I hadn’t really researched the surgery much at the time, I’m satisfied with the result. I think the doctor didn’t recommend anything excessive and only suggested things appropriate to recommend to a student.
I think the recovery room was a shared room, and I don’t think there was any separate aftercare included. If I could go back, I think I’d probably do it here again,, I don’t even remember what my old eyes looked like,..^^
