My forehead was originally narrow and sunken, so it was a complex for me. Honestly, not only my forehead but my overall facial line stresses me out too...(haha...) I thought that if my forehead projected in a rounded way, my overall facial proportions would improve, it would look less narrow, and my side profile would look prettier, so I got the procedure. I had it done at the nearest petit clinic around June-July 2018. It has already been over 2 years now.
I went in and had a consultation about how many cc to inject. I wanted a natural look rather than a very convex forehead, but because my forehead was so sunken, I remember they said I would need the basic amount for it to come out moderatelyㅠㅠㅠ When I went into the procedure room and lay down, a nurse came and gave me a doll. They gave it to me so I could squeeze it if it hurt, so I got nervous, like, oh, is it going to hurt? lololol
The filler injection itself did not hurt, but before that, they injected anesthesia all over my forehead, and that was extremely painful. I found out later that while injecting the anesthesia, they rupture the nerves and things inside the forehead. (And the filler goes into that space.) I think people with autoimmune diseases should be careful with filler procedures. The total time, including consultation and waiting, was less than an hour, I think, and afterward they put something like a moist wound patch over the needle holes.
After the filler procedure, I was really, really swollen for about a week to ten days. The swelling started from my forehead and gradually moved down to my eyes and nose, then disappeared around my cheeks. I remember hearing a lot from people around me, like I looked like Avatar, why was my face so swollen, did I sleep after eating ramen, and things like that.
I know that one filler treatment usually lasts about 6-9 months, but even now, 2 years later, my forehead has not gone back to how it originally was. Of course, it is not a smoothly curved forehead that projects moderately like at first, but it projects to a degree similar to my brow bone, so I am satisfied. Sometimes it feels very slightly bumpy when I touch it, but from the outside there is nothing wrong at all, and even when I make facial expressions it does not show at all. I saw on YouTube that after a filler procedure, some of the space where the filler dissolves may be filled by flesh or tissue, and I think that may have happened. The rest must be remaining filler that will not dissolve now, right? lol
Now I am also getting laser hair removal on my forehead, and although it is not three-dimensionally convex, visually and aesthetically it has become prettier. So even if my forehead becomes flatter from here, I have no plan to get additional filler. These days there is also a lot of talk about fillers being dangerous, so I feel anxious now, even if only belatedly. Still, for me it was a procedure with only benefits and no losses. Haha.
