At first, I originally went to the hospital thinking I would only get chin advancement. While the surgeon was consulting with me, they said that to get the look I wanted, I would need to do square jaw surgery as well. At first, I hadn't even thought about square jaw surgery, so I deliberated a bit, but I came to agree with the surgeon's diagnosis and decided to get chin advancement + square jaw surgery.
In the end, the surgeon's diagnosis was correct, and I think the surgery turned out well in the way I wanted. For the first 2 to 3 months, I worried a lot because it felt like a prognathic jaw and a long chin, but the swelling kept going down even up to 1 year. (If you look at my previous posts, there should be one where I kept whining about swelling and asking when it would go away..) So now, with it being just under a year, I'm satisfied because the chin length and the amount of advancement feel appropriate.
The surgeon has a really good aesthetic sense, and I'm grateful that they made it look natural.
