6 months ago, I had nasal tip septal cartilage/rhinitis/bulbous nose correction and it went totally wrong. While looking into revision surgery that could make the shape pretty, I felt like I got hit in the head with a hammer, and I’m at a crossroads about whether to just go back to my original nose.
Forget a naturally glamorous or flashy look, I just want to go back to my original nose, so I’m going to write reviews of the clinics I started visiting from today.
1. ㅊㅁ
Columellar support, nasal tip cartilage removal, then repositioning Slight discount if proceeding as a partial model After removal: AlloDerm if there is a step-off Autologous dermis if the nasal tip becomes depressed AlloDerm if the columella becomes crumpled CT scan required, consultation fee 26,000 won prepaid
Clinic facilities are clean Parking available in the basement
The director explained things calmly and well. In my case, he said he does a lot of extremely difficult noses, and mine is about a 0.000005 level of difficulty, so it’s nothing major.
If a step-off occurs, AlloDerm, allogeneic dermis… (makes me uneasy) He said if they open it up and the nasal tip has become thin, they would take a tiny bit of tissue from my side and place it on the nasal tip.
Both make me uneasy… taking and attaching something again…
2. ㅅㅅㅇ
Consultation fee payment: 10,000 won
The clinic facilities look old, but the front desk staff and consultant were kind. The director really explained everything calmly and well ㅠㅠ He kept asking if I had any more questions, and for parts that an ordinary patient might not understand, he explained them again in detail in an easier way.
It is difficult to return to the original nose. But the goal is to make it as similar as possible.
The original nose is difficult because the structural feel itself has changed.
Because the structure has weakened, if I want to go back to my original nasal line, if only removal is done, collapse of the support, nasal tip compression, or upturning can occur. Therefore, he would reinforce the column support using the existing septal cartilage, and after opening it up, if the septal cartilage is insufficient, ear cartilage may also be used. If foreign material comes out when opened, an additional 300,000 won. The director is really good ㅠㅠㅠ
He is honest. So the original nose you want has to be done through revision surgery.
3. ㅇㄱㅈㅇㅇㅂ
Going back to the original nose is simple. Only removal is needed.
My question) If only removal is done, wouldn’t there be collapse of the column, nasal tip compression, or upturning?
If you put a pillar in a room and then take it out, does the ceiling collapse? It stays fine. So the nose also just goes back to the original nose. But whether the bulbous nose correction you had also goes back to the original nose is the question. That is what removal means.
I said I like the bulbous nose correction.
Huh? Then that needs revision surgery. The key to bulbous nose correction is that raising the nasal tip with septal cartilage is essential. You have to set up a support with septal cartilage and tie the cartilage to it for the bulbous nose to be corrected. If you want to return to your original nose but keep the bulbous nose corrected, let’s do revision surgery.
The revision method is the same as ㅅㅅㅇ, but the surgery fee at ㅇㄱㅈㅇㅇㅂ is about 500,000-600,000 won more expensive. When consulting with the director at ㅇㄱㅈㅇㅇㅂ, I had waited after his last surgery until it was almost time for him to leave work, so maybe he was tired, but when I asked follow-up questions he seemed a bit annoyed hahahahahaha boohoo The clinic facilities are clean.. He seems confident, but..
It comes down to removal versus revision surgery. I’m debating it, but the consultant said, if you only go back to your original nose, you’ll regret it, right? What if you think, “I should have done it then,” after throwing away the septal cartilage ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I do wonder if I might regret that later too.
For now, the revision surgery method is the same as ㅅㅅㅇ, but because the clinic facilities were clean, I ended up putting down a deposit and scheduling a surgery date.
My friend scolded me so much. She asked if I still hadn’t come to my senses ㅠㅠ She told me to go to two more places, ㅅㅇ and ㄱㅇㅅ, so I’m going to call tomorrow and cancel the surgery date I scheduled for now hahahahahahahaha Tomorrow I’ll go to ㅅㅇ, and next week I’m going to ㄱㅇㅅ.
If there’s anyone here who did well after complete removal, or anyone like me who liked the bulbous nose correction and had revision surgery with column support reinforcement, please leave a comment ㅠㅍㅍㅍ
And if anyone here decided after comparing clinics like me, please share the reason too ㅠ퓨ㅠ My indecisiveness is so bad I’m going crazy ㅠㅠ Plus I’m an ENFP… please help me, everyone ㅠㅠㅠ
Also, when I look from the front now, my nose is crooked. I’m curious whether it’ll be okay if I remove everything and return to my original nose, or whether this can also be corrected, but I forgot to ask today. Damn it hahahahaha
