Before-before-after-after-after It seems like a lot of men are looking into facial contouring, and there are some posts about what people looked into before surgery and things like that, but I couldn’t find much written about what it’s like after surgery, so I’m writing this.
I had the surgery with Director Kwon Byeong-yoon at Nana Plastic Surgery, and I chose this place because my friend had good results here. There wasn’t any major reason. Since I’m writing this to talk about what it was like after surgery anyway, I’ll move on quickly.
Day of surgery My blood pressure kept going up and down irregularly, and it was hard. Thankfully, I was hospitalized, and the nurses checked everything very carefully, so there were no problems. There was something like a drain in my mouth, which was a little uncomfortable. But I was still not fully awake from the anesthesia and slept a lot, so I got through it fine.
One week after surgery Eating is the hardest part. Lying down wasn’t something I thought much about. I just rested at home all day, watched YouTube, and played games. Aside from some numbness inside my mouth, there wasn’t much that was very uncomfortable. The pain also wasn’t that severe. It only hurt a bit on the first day, and the rest was okay.
One month after surgery By this point, the swelling had gone down quite a lot, and from about week 2 to week 3, I went for walks while eating soft tofu, pumpkin porridge, and ice cream. Cold foods are fine, but hot foods are a bit uncomfortable to eat. For pumpkin porridge, I recommend not heating it too much in the microwave before eating it.
Three months after surgery The swelling is completely gone, and sensation inside the mouth returns. Both the side view and front view settle in very naturally. From this point on, you can think of it as being 100% possible to return to daily life.
Overall What I was most worried about when deciding on facial contouring surgery was, “What if my face shape becomes too feminine?” But I think the surgery turned out well, naturally and in a masculine way. My satisfaction is really high, and the effect >>> the difficulty. I especially like that my jawline became sharper. It would be a lie to say it doesn’t hurt and isn’t hard, but the results are good enough to outweigh all of that.
