In my case, I had a consultation for protruding mouth at another clinic a few years ago, and they said the protrusion was not a concern, but my chin was long and retruded backward,
so it was what people commonly call a weak chin...
Anyway, I was advised to undergo extraction orthodontic treatment and then have chin tip surgery at the end. After receiving extraction orthodontics, I finally had a consultation today
for chin tip surgery at that clinic.
The reason I went to this clinic was that after trying orthodontic treatment, although it turned out well,
even if the purpose is largely cosmetic, I was worried that if I got too greedy and they accidentally touched a nerve or bone, I might have side effects later,
or regret it belatedly when I get older, so while looking for a clinic that would keep the risk as low as possible and also resolve the aesthetic part reasonably well,
I saw this clinic on YouTube and it matched the direction I wanted, so I visited for a consultation.
Before the consultation, I was worried because other reviews said the director was a bit cynical
and that if the case was not severe enough to need surgery, he would send you away.
I was worried I might get scolded, like “You’re not trying to become a celebrity, so why are you trying to have surgery?” and be rejected,
but after looking at my CT scan and side profile, he said my chin was indeed a bit under-projected and went straight into the consultation.
The consultation took less than 20 minutes.
The consultation itself was short, but maybe because he has so much experience, in that short time, before I even asked the questions I had prepared,
he clearly explained everything first, so I had nothing more to ask.
Especially in my case, although I have a weak chin, my chin is also on the long side, so I was worried that if the chin were advanced, my face might look even longer.
But he first said that instead of cutting the chin tip in a straight line, he would cut it diagonally upward so that even after advancement it would become somewhat shorter,
so that also eased my worries about the cosmetic aspect.
In conclusion, I had the fee-related consultation with another consultant, and because of my work schedule I did not set an exact date,
but I decided to have it done here around March.
