Incisional double eyelid surgery review + ptosis correction asymmetry

Sorry for the informal shorthand style

My eye condition before surgery -> I didn’t have much eyelid fat, and my eyelids weren’t thick. I used double eyelid glue/liquid for 5 years (for 5 years, my eyelid skin didn’t stretch much).

Reason for surgery -> First, making double eyelids every morning was extremely annoying, and I was stressed because the double eyelids looked different on each side. + I was also stressed because every time I took photos, it looked like my eyes weren’t fully open...

I didn’t go around to many hospitals for consultations and just copied what my friend did at the place she went to...(don’t do thisㅜ)

Consultation result -> They said my eye-opening strength was very weak, so I had to do incisional double eyelid surgery together with ptosis correction, and that I absolutely had to do epicanthoplasty. That was the conclusion.

I didn’t think much the day before or the day of surgery. Even when I lay on the operating table, I had no thoughts...

When you lie on the operating table, the nurses put an injection in your arm, but something didn’t go well on one arm, so they did it again on the other side (I don’t know what injection it was).

Anyway, the doctor came in and said, “We’ll do just a little sedation anesthesia~” and then did sedation anesthesia. It wasn’t like I entered another dimension like I expected; I just saw backgrounds like pink and green. But maybe the sedation anesthesia didn’t work well, because I felt everything when they gave the anesthetic injections around my eyes, so it hurt a bitㅜ

I could feel everything: cutting the eyes, using the laser, pulling the eye fat... It felt strange and odd. And I saw in other reviews that it smells like burnt squid, and that’s true... To be precise, it’s a little different from squid smell, but anyway there was a strange smell.

In between, the doctor said things like, “Please open your eyes~ Which eye is easier to open? Does it hurt? Now we’re going to do so-and-so~” and asked me questions, so that was good.

The surgery took about 2 and a half hours, and when it ended, I was going to thank the doctor, but he only told me the post-op precautions and left right away, so I couldn’t say thank you...

After that, I went to the recovery room, immediately picked up my phone and looked at my eyes, and I was shocked because they were much more swollen and looked stranger than I expected lolㅜㅠ There was also a lot of bruising... I needed a little time to accept my condition...

Surgery conclusion -> The surgery itself doesn’t hurt, but the local anesthesia injections really, really hurt. And about 30 minutes after surgery, my eyes slowly started to hurt. But that gets better after sleeping and waking up.

It’s now been +1 month since surgery, My left eye (the eye that had weaker opening strength) is much more swollen. So the amount of pupil exposure? of the two eyes is different... left eye 60%, right eye 90%.

I am worried about what if it’s not because of swelling, but I already knew my eyes were originally uneven from when I used double eyelid glue/liquid, so I’m not extremely emotionally distressed or anything. I’m just living thinking that if I wait, it’ll get better. I’ll write another review about this in around two months.

Yesterday I went to the hospital for a follow-up, and they said the side with stronger original eye-opening strength loses swelling faster... so I decided to just wait.

+For the epicanthoplasty, I asked them to open it only a tiny bit because I was worried it would be obvious, but it’s less noticeable than I expected. Looking at it now, I think I could have opened it a little more, but I’ll just be satisfied with how it is now~~

The writing is disorganized and hard to read, right? Sorry...
