Before <before surgery> After after after <after surgery>Before getting facial contouring, the thing I was most worried about was swelling, so I bought a ton of things like swelling-reducing tea and a cosmetic-surgery pillow, but honestly, looking back after some time passed, I think they just became clutter and I barely used them.. After about 2 weeks, the yellow bruising moves down a lot, and as long as you follow only what the hospital tells you not to do and stick to the basics, I think the swelling all goes down with time lol
At the one-week mark, I had the sideburn stitches removed, and I think that’s when I really started taking proper walks. I think the swelling went down most noticeably around this time. The sideburn scars are now at the point where they’re almost not visible if I wear my hair down, and I had the intraoral stitches removed in week 3. Since food debris would get stuck inside my mouth and stuff, having to gargle constantly was the most annoying part.. Even if I ate just a little, I had to gargle, so it got annoying and I intentionally avoided eating.. haha
Anyway, my biggest complex was my pointed square jaw, and my chin width was also on the wider side, so I had the square jaw refined with a long-curve contouring approach? and also shaved down the protruding cheekbone area. I studied really hard before surgery, and I heard that the degree of sagging later can differ depending on how the fixation is done, so I looked into triple fixation! There surprisingly aren’t that many places that do triple fixation...?? ++ Each hospital has a different cheekbone surgery method, but I thought the trapezoid method seemed the safest, so I chose trapezoid osteotomy.
The line I originally wanted when I went in was a doll-like line, but I told the director that I didn’t want an overly artificial and pointy V-line (like that Chinese TikToker filter.. lol you know what I mean?), and I strongly emphasized that I wanted a moderately elegant doll-like line? The director actively reflected that part too.
The hardest part after surgery was not being able to eat freely, and I think what confused me the most was, can I eat this? Can I eat that?.. How should I put it, the distinction between foods you can and can’t eat felt a bit vague ㅜ I was worried that if I ate the wrong thing, something might happen to my jaw or cheekbones, so I ended up distrusting food lol Anyway, whenever that happened, I felt like asking online might bring some wrong information too, so I kept asking the hospital and communicating with them. My friends jokingly called me a difficult patient, but I had surgery on my face.. and I think doing at least this much is right for safety and for the surgical result. From the hospital’s perspective too, isn’t this better than me managing it incorrectly and affecting the result? lol
Anyway, during the time I was putting in effort and going through the hard parts, I wondered when it would all be over, but after living busily, I’m already at 3 months.. I’m relieved because I think the surgical result came out well enough that the money wasn’t wasted lol These days I’m realizing every day that face shape definitely has a big effect on how well photos turn out.. I’m just waiting for the residual swelling to hurry up and go down more hehe
