Before before after after after facial asymmetry and pain. It has already been well over 6 months since I had surgery to get rid of an old complex. I am 6 months post-op from double-jaw surgery + 2 types of facial contouring (square jaw, chin) at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and 5 months into orthodontic treatment. Now it feels like that difficult first month after surgery was ages ago~ I can now eat without hesitation, and sleeping on my side is not uncomfortable at all. It will probably get even better, but I am still being very cautious, so I am trying not to overdo it. After about 5 months of orthodontic treatment, the orthodontic director said things are going well, and this month I lived without elastics, so it was really comfortable hahaha. I have also developed the ability(?) to deal with the foreign-body sensation in my mouth after meals, and my pronunciation and so on are okay, so there is not much discomfort. However, because I could not practice opening my mouth much in the early period after surgery, this is still giving me the hardest timeㅠㅠ (Everyone, even if it is difficult, you need to make an effort to practice opening your mouth early onㅠㅠ) And maybe because I had the surgery when I was already quite old, sagging cheek fat could not be helped. I had also been told it would happen, and I was someone with a lot of cheek fat to begin with, so I am just accepting it. Next time, I am thinking of visiting a dermatology clinic for this hahaha Still, every time I look in the mirror, rather than the cheek fat, seeing my upper and lower teeth fitting together well makes me feel happier, so I am satisfied~ Since I lost weight from not being able to eat, I have been exercising more lately, and with my own kind of dieting I have lost even more weight, so of course I feel really good!! I am looking forward to things getting even better from here on>_< To those considering surgery, I would say it is best to do it while you are even one year younger~~ !!!
