It's been over 1 month and I'm now heading toward 2 months, but maybe because I had a lot of things done, quite a lot of swelling still remains! ㅜㅜ Still, my cheekbones have already gone in and my facial line has become cleaner, so thinking that the swelling will go down from here makes me really excited! First, I'll write down what I've felt during the recovery period so far!
After surgery, I was okay until I was discharged the next day, but from day 2, my whole face suddenly swelled up so much that it was hard to open my eyes ㅜㅜ I iced almost all day, and they said I had to eat liquid food until day 3, so I kept drinking soy milk! I also took the medication, so I didn't have pain or anything like that! My friend washed my hair for me lolololol At times like this, I was really grateful for my friend..
On day 5, I had the stitches removed and also received injections and laser treatment! I kept taking walks, so the swelling started going down a lot, but inside my mouth and overall, it was still a time when there was swelling!
Also, when about 2 weeks had passed, I went to the hospital and they said the swelling had not gone down as much as expected, so I should walk a lot and work hard on mouth-opening exercises! They took a CT scan and compared before and after, and my jaw had definitely become smaller and the line was more refined! There was a bumpy area on my jaw, and they explained it like how they operated on that part. I received about an hour of care, including radiofrequency laser, light laser, and a de-swelling pack! Right after it was done, when I touched it, I could feel that the swelling had gone down a bit more! haha
I went to the hospital once more at 1 month too! The director checked me again and emphasized the mouth-opening exercises once more! There was still swelling, but compared to the first week.. ㅠ It had become much better, and I got one more injection before going home! With a mask on, the swelling doesn't show much haha Now that a month has passed, I can drink alcohol, but I didn't because I was worried I might swell more! I'm still abstaining from alcohol now, and whenever I have to go outside, I try to walk as much as possible! I had surgery at a plastic surgery clinic, and it was good that even after surgery, the director personally checked me and gave advice about swelling and care! I tried to write it as simply as possible, but while organizing it, it got pretty long ㅠㅠ Still, I hope it helps a lot for people who are considering facial contouring! Thank you for reading this long post! haha
