I got LASEK in 2024.8.
Actually, I’m from outside Seoulㅠ Still, I went to one clinic in the city that could be called the best? and they recommended implantable contact lenses. They said LASIK, LASEK, and SMILE were all impossibleㅠ
For reference, my myopia was -7 / -4 left and right, and my astigmatism came out as -4, -2 (I don’t remember the right side well), but they said it couldn’t be done because my left vision was too badㅠㅠ
But when I went to Haneul Eye Clinic and got tested, they said LASEK was possible and that if my vision dropped, my level would even allow reoperation (my cornea was on the thicker side!). So I set a date and got it done.
Now, aside from some difficulty with glare when driving at night, I’m okay! As for dry eyes, if I look at my phone for a long time, my eyes do feel a bit hot lol, but if I use artificial tears well and rest my eyes often, it’s fine.
Before worrying, I think it’s better to first go to a clinic, get tested, consult about what surgeries are possible, and then think it over.
Worrying before even getting tested seems meaningless!
Cleaning and living with contact lenses was so annoying and hard, so I’m satisfied. Of course, it’s a shame I can’t wear colored contacts...ㅠㅠ
