First of all, I had incisional double eyelid surgery with an in-out line + ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty 10 years ago. The reason I wanted revision surgery was because I wanted to raise the line near the inner corner of my eyes or change it to a semi-out line, and if possible, also get a lateral canthoplasty! I visited three clinics based on that. 1. ㅇㄹㅇ (upper epicanthoplasty + lateral/lower canthoplasty) - I went because I liked the review photos on ㄱㄴㅇㄴ. Maybe because I went on a weekday, there wasn’t much waiting. It felt like the consultation with the consultant was the main part, and then I consulted with the director based on that content, so I was a bit puzzled at first. But the director also tried several lines for me, explained while looking at photos, and did give a detailed consultation. - The current height of my double eyelid line suits me perfectly. But if I only change the inner corner line, there is a chance it could form two lines with the existing line. They thought it probably wouldn’t come out cleanly, so they did not recommend revision double eyelid surgery. - Instead, they recommended an upper epicanthoplasty. They said the skin at the front of my eyes is sagging, which makes the front line less visible. They said it would probably be better to incise that. Because I have a history of epicanthoplasty, it would be considered revision surgery. - They recommended lateral/lower canthoplasty. They said there is space, so it should have an effect. The lateral/lower canthoplasty would be done by incision, and they said they use dissolvable sutures. - They have CCTV, and aftercare includes swelling laser and so on. AS is available for up to 1 year. - The price was the cheapest.
2. ㄴㅅㅎ (upper epicanthoplasty + lateral/lower canthoplasty) - I went because I heard it was an eye-specialized clinic. The wait was long. And it looked like they had a lot of surgeries. I guess this must be the peak season. - The consultant only asked what I wanted, and then I consulted with the director right away. But the director… looked very tired ㅜㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ - To change the line, the overall double eyelid line would need to be raised, but that would not suit my eye structure. - If I want to get rid of the Mongolian fold, they said I would probably need an anterior/upper epicanthoplasty. - They did not necessarily recommend lateral/lower canthoplasty, but? It is possible. Incision + periosteal fixation. - Rather than recommending that I must get a certain surgery, it seemed like they were trying to do what I wanted. Without any special comments, they spoke in a tone like, “It seems possible,” and “There should be an effect.” - Aftercare: swelling injections and swelling laser, 3 sessions each. - CCTV can be viewed, but there is a separate fee. - The cost was average.
3. ㅌㅇㅅ (revision eye surgery, natural adhesion method (micro-correction)) - I went because I heard many people go here for revision surgery. - There were really a lot of people, and the wait was just as long. - Here too, I talked briefly with the consultant about what surgery I wanted, then consulted with the director right away. - This was the only place that measured my eyes with a ruler… It was interesting. - They created several delicate line options for me. I told them which line I wanted among them. - They said my current double eyelid line is pretty. So they recommended only pinching the inner corner line with the natural adhesion method. They called it micro-correction. So I asked about upper epicanthoplasty, and they said if I did it, it would only leave a darker scar. - They said even if the natural adhesion comes undone, I would just return to my current line, so it’s a surgery with nothing to lose, and it’s better to go as safely as possible. They seemed extremely safety-oriented. - As soon as I brought up lateral/lower canthoplasty, they told me not to do it. They said if lateral/lower canthoplasty is overdone, it leaves scars, and if not, it’s a surgery only I would notice, so why bother... And even if I did it, it wouldn’t make the horizontal length longer, but would make the eyes bigger downward, so my eyes would only become rounder. - They said the complete opposite of the previous clinics, so I’m reaaally torn. - They have CCTV, and guardians can observe in real time. - Unlimited swelling laser for one month, AS available for 1 year.
I’m debating between 1 and 3... Should I go to more places…ㅜ I live outside Seoul, so going to Seoul even once is so hard.
