Before <preoperative appearance>Before <preoperative side view>After <hair tied up at 2 weeks after surgery>After <hair down at 2 weeks after surgery><Recent one-month photos.>I had a chin implant placed a few years ago because of a recessed chin, but it felt like the implant was moving, and as I lost facial fat over time, my cheekbones and square jaw looked more prominent, so this time I just... thought about whether I should finally get the facial contouring surgery I had been considering, looked for directors who were said to be famous for facial contouring, went around for consultations, and ended up having the surgery! The surgery I had was cheekbone surgery, square jaw surgery, and repositioning of the chin implant.
Since I’m now one month post-op, I’ll leave a note about the swelling process and what I felt. I’m not very good at writing.. so I’ll write whatever comes to mind.
(~2 weeks after surgery)
For the first week after surgery, the swelling made it so hard, and I couldn’t chew food properly, so honestly it was hell..... I just kept wishing time would pass, and as I went to the hospital and received aftercare every day, the swelling went down better than I expected. The hospital told me that if I could come every day, I should come every day for care, so I really went every day, and it was so nice that they took good care of me every time I went. Going back and forth to the hospital automatically became a walk too, so I think that was even better. (~1 month after surgery)
Some days it looks like a lot of swelling has gone down, and some days it feels like the swelling has come back up. I think it depends on my condition, and if I eat something a bit salty, I seem to swell easily, so I’m trying to avoid spicy and salty foods as much as possible. As for eating, my mouth still doesn’t open wide comfortably, so I’m cutting food with scissors and eating it. They say facial contouring has to be watched for up to 6 months, so I’m trying to clear my mind a bit and wait. Still, compared to before surgery.. I can really see that my face has become much slimmer, so I’m curious how much slimmer it will get once the swelling goes down. What I also felt after considering surgery for several years is that the director’s skill and the consultation are the most important. What I looked up online felt different from actually going in person. If I have time again next time, I’ll bring another review.
