One of my lower teeth was twisted on its own, so I underwent lower-teeth orthodontic treatment for 11 months, which is short if you call it short, and I’m much more satisfied than I expected. The 4 lower front teeth are really straight, right? Originally, the 4th tooth on the right side of the screen was completely tucked inward. Because of this, instead of using my canine, I had a habit of always tearing things with the protruding side next to my front tooth, and I would put force on my lower jaw, so there was a clicking sound every time I opened my mouth. But after starting orthodontic treatment, that clicking sound improved a lot.
The problem is that after about a year, I’m now considering orthodontic treatment for my upper teeth too (they are slightly spaced and protrude forward because of the lower teeth). I didn’t feel much pain when correcting my lower teeth, so I’m not worried about the pain, but my upper teeth are straight enough that other people all say they look even... The area marked in red doesn’t show well in the photo, but there is a gap where the gums show. But it’s something only I’m subtly concerned about... and with upper teeth, the orthodontic appliance is very visible so I’m torn. I want to slightly reshape the enamel of my rabbit-like front teeth, and since they would become smaller, I’d like to narrow the upper teeth overall, but I feel like everyone would tell me not to touch perfectly fine teeth any more, so I wonder if I’m being too greedy...
For now, I ground down the rabbit-like front teeth that were long downward. Maybe I’m more conflicted because I’ve been satisfied with everything, from lower-teeth orthodontics to the subtle reshaping of the upper rabbit-like front teeth.
And after one success, I started thinking all at once about other areas that had bothered me before, like facial contouring and so on... If I’m going to touch the face area, it feels awkward to start orthodontics hastily, since the treatment period is long after all. For those with concerns similar to mine, I think doing upper and lower teeth together all at once may also be a good option.
