After<The two photos above are recent photos after revision surgery with autologous dermis>Since I had surgery on October 21, it has been about 2 months since the surgery. Without the silicone and the Medpor in my nasal tip, I feel more at ease these days than before.
It had been about 5 years since I had surgery with silicone, and the bridge of my nose kept getting red and swelling up badly, so I went to a hospital. I was extremely shocked to find out there was Medpor in my nasal tip without my permission. No wonder my nasal tip felt so tight.
So I looked into hospitals here and there by researching online, and I received consultations at several hospitals. Because my nose was in a state of severe inflammation, I was told at several places that even if it was removed, it might not even return to its previous condition, so I had revision surgery.
I was debating between autologous costal cartilage and dermis, then decided on dermis and had the revision surgery. Now I am two months out, and by my own standards, I am satisfied.
The only thing I am worried about is how much and how the absorption will happen?? But I am just going to accept it as it turns out and live with it.
Now that I have come all the way to revision surgery, I really feel like the thing I regret most in my life is getting nose surgery. I was under tremendous stress too.
But the water has already been spilled, and through the failure of my first surgery, I feel like I received a lesson that cannot be expressed in words.
My silicone inflammation was in a very severe state, so the director had a really hard time when removing it ㅠㅠ Removing the silicone, removing the inflammatory tissue, removing the Medpor, and lowering the raised nasal tip seemed to take about 70% of the surgery time. I had the surgery under local anesthesia.
Of course, that also means they paid very close and meticulous attention to it!!
There are definitely a few people around me who are using implants really well without any problems. My friend has been using silicone well for over 10 years, and my aunts had their nasal bridges raised with silicone through an unlicensed procedure in the countryside, yet they have been doing fine for 15 years. So it is hard for me to carelessly say, 'Silicone is absolutely a bad material that always causes side effects!!'
But since I personally experienced how scary implant side effects can be once they occur, I honestly want to oppose nose surgery if at all possible.
I had surgery twice because of implant side effects, but if I had known that implant side effects would drain a person this much, I would not have had surgery from the beginning.
Even if you feel a little lacking or unattractive, I think living as you naturally are is a million times better than the stress that comes from nose surgery side effects.
Still, after having revision surgery with autologous dermis, I can finally feel much more relieved about side effects.
