I had lateral canthoplasty done once somewhere else, but it reattached upward, so I had revision surgery. As expected, for lateral canthoplasty, this plastic surgery clinic seems right. I heard YouTubers Jo Doo-pal and Jung Da-yoon both had it done there, and I liked that wide, refreshed canthoplasty shape that was exactly what I wanted.
At the other hospital, they said it had returned to its original state after 8 months and that they would do revision surgery, but honestly I thought it would just reattach again anyway, so I said I wouldn’t do it. This isn’t about the money. Am I supposed to lie on an operating table once a year, seriously ㅡㅡ The only advantage there was that after the canthoplasty, there weren’t any visible, unsightly stitches.
It’s my fault for not looking up reviews about it reattaching in the first place. Anyway, when they asked where I had it done and I told them the hospital name, they said a lot of people come for revision after surgery at that hospital. They said the stitches may be a bit bothersome, but since it won’t reattach, not to worry. They said so confidently that it wouldn’t reattach, to the point that I wondered if they could really be that definite, and I felt at peace.
They explained various things, like that scars could remain where the stitches were removed, that there would be a lot of swelling, and that it could be uncomfortable, but I don’t remember everything. First of all, compared to the first hospital, it’s true that the scarring is a bit more noticeable. But the shape of the opened area is really different, and it made me realize that a person’s eye shape can change this much.
Can you see how the white area at the outer corner of my eye got wider? You could jump rope there. Starting with the lowered angle of the eye tail, clap clap clap clap clap.
I really love it. This is truly a surgery I’m glad I did ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
