<Same-Day Nose Surgery Review> A record of my nose surgery that I paid for myself For everyone curious about the surgery process, pain level, bruising, bleeding, and swelling, use this as a reference
■My nose: low nose, slight hump, flat side profile ■Goal: natural beauty, safety-focused, first surgery After making the surgery appointment and waiting and waiting, I got my nose surgery today My bridge was not completely nonexistent, but it looked flat from the side And I had a very slight hump, so side-profile photos did not look pretty I was always busy lifting my nose in apps lol
Other people say they worried about their nose for 1 year, 5 years, even 10 years...... For me, I usually just had thoughts like, 'I don't really like my nose?' Then suddenly I got the urge, did tons of online research, searched reviews like crazy, and on the day I went for consultation, I was like, let's go!! Please do it~! It was a little? impulsive haha I also booked the surgery date right away at the place where I had my first consultation
Still, it wasn't like I did it without thinking at all. It was my first nose surgery, and there is so much talk about side effects and all that with rhinoplasty And when I look at Instagram and various photos, even when they are natural, there are so many noses where you can clearly tell they had surgery, so I was like no to glamorous!! Even semi-glam felt a bit off-putting to me. I am extremely safety-focused + extremely conservative, so I searched and searched for somewhere as natural as possible and narrowed it down to Suwon ㄴㄴㅅ, Gangnam ㄷㄹ, and ㅋㅇㅍㄹㅅ.
The place I wanted most at first was Suwon ㄴㄴㅅ. Suwon ㄴㄴㅅ was really extremely, extremely safety-focused, conservative on top of conservative, and did surgery so that it was barely noticeable. There were so many good reviews, but as I kept looking, the aesthetic seemed a bit bad..? To my eyes, it felt somehow old-fashioned, so my mind slowly started leaning elsewhere. And as I kept watching the director's way too~~~ confident attitude, I started feeling a bit put off... No matter how skilled someone is, I think it is actually more conscientious to say, 'This kind of side effect? This kind of phenomenon can happen.' But the attitude of being so confident, like my skills are the best!! made me think there could actually be some risk. Then I also saw tons of reviews saying the director's opinions were so strong that the patient's opinions were not reflected. I just thought it would be perfect for people who can let go of their own opinions and want safety above all.
Next was ㄷㄹ I had also booked a consultation at ㅋㅇㅍㄹㅅ, but it was only possible near the end of the month... So this was the place I went to first, and the direction the director pursued was similar to my mindset. Safety-focused, natural-looking. But at first, I was not that into the fact that they use septal cartilage + ear cartilage (because Suwon ㄴㄴㅅ said they absolutely use only ear cartilage.. so I had a bit of resistance even toward septal cartilage). But after listening to the director's explanation, he said my alar cartilage was small and weak, and I also judged that using septal cartilage would probably be more stable, so I said okay and booked the surgery date before leaving. (+They had many cases like my nose. I decided because I think it is important to choose a hospital that does many noses similar to mine)
+Oh, and I went planning to get only nose surgery, but they also recommended under-eye fat repositioning, so I registered for that too. This may also look impulsive... haha But back in high school my nickname was panda, and I like going around bare-faced or with light makeup, but I hated how the area under my eyes always looked dull~, like someone who had worked overtime for 3 daysㅠ Brightening concealer was absolutely essential...... When they said the fat was bulging out and making the shadow worse, I thought about it briefly and got it done together.
. .
And today is the day I came back after nose surgery!! The night before, I had a complicated mix of half excitement + half worry, so I could not sleep, and even on the morning going to the hospital I went while thinking, 'Is this right... Was this too rushed of a decision? Will my face really change if I get my nose done? Afterward I am going to suffer like crazy...'
Then I prepared and had the consultation, and during the consultation I added full-face fat grafting + aegyo-sal too lololololololol I will post a separate review about this later
Then I went straight into the operating room, and even though I had not been nervous at all, I got very slightly nervous. Then they put the IV in my arm, and when I woke up, it was over. They said the surgery took 3 hours because there was a lot to do lol It felt like 30 minutes.... magic. Sedation anesthesia is always fascinating, and fascinating again...
And pain? More than the surgery process or anything like that, I was most terrified of the aftereffects? pain I would have to go through after waking from anesthesia, like it being super painful, cotton blocking my nose, blood and runny nose dripping everywhere
What????? Why doesn't it hurt...... Seriously, it did not hurt so~~~~~~ much that I was stunned Reviews said the ear hurts more, so I was more scared of ear pain But my ear does not hurt even 1 bit. It just feels like my normal ear. My nose is fine too, other than it being blocked and my throat being dry because of that...... Nose pain 1 out of 5 Ear pain 0... huh?
After coming home, the anesthesia slowly wore off 3 hours later, and my nose throbbed very slightly. Nose pain 2 Ear pain 0 I absolutely should not think this, but at this level, I could even do nose surgery up to 3 times....? That crazy thought. I was really worried about going to work because I could not take many days off, but if I wear a mask, 95% is covered, totally doable.
I had bought a mask from Coupang in advance that has a humidifying filter, and it definitely worked. My mouth got less dry.
<And Nose Surgery Photos> Because there is a splint and gauze, I cannot properly tell. Honestly, just looking at it like this, the height feels only very slightly higher, so I first thought, 'Huh? It is the day of surgery, but is this really higher???ㅠㅠ If the swelling goes down and the nasal tip drops, will there be almost no difference and will the hump come back the same???'ㅠㅠ
But the director had told me in advance that because my skin is very thin and my alar cartilages are small, if he raised it a lot, the cartilage could show through or it could become an upturned nose. So I thought it would be raised to a moderately natural degree~, but I feel a little anxious because it somehow seems like it did not get much higherㅠ.ㅠ
Once I actually paid a lot of money for surgery, I cannot help thinking maybe I want it to be higher? I want to be prettier? But I am trying to lower my expectations with the mindset that the end of greed is looking overdone from plastic surgery haha
I am glad it does not hurt and it seems like the surgery was done cleanly, but I am hoping and hoping it turns out well with the natural rounded feel I wanted!!!!!! I am so curious!!! (+I am very satisfied with the fat grafting I ended up getting unexpectedly.)
I will keep posting reviews!!
