Hello! I’m leaving my 2-week review after getting 2.5 types of facial contouring (cheekbones + pinless V-line) at Note~~ I’ve had quite a lot of cosmetic surgery and procedures, but this is my first review, so it feels awkward haha.. First, from 10 years ago..ㅋ when I was 19, I had decided that once I became an adult, I would get facial contouring surgery.
But once I actually became an adult, the surgery cost was high, and back in my early 20s facial contouring surgery was still quite rare and not as common as it is now, so there wasn’t much information. Because of worries about facial paralysis and various side effects, fear of major surgery (like dying during surgery..), and so on, I gave up on facial contouring surgery
and tried all kinds of other methods. I tried cheek filler to soften my prominent peanut-shaped face, square jaw Botox, and even got 20 sessions of meridian massage at a famous shop. But none of them gave me satisfying results ㅠㅠㅠ
My jaw was a type where most of the prominence came from bone rather than muscle, so Botox had no effect. Cheek filler did let me move a little away from the peanut shape, but I still didn’t like the protrusion of my 45-degree cheekbones, and somehow my midface looked longer, making my face look long and unattractive.
As for meridian massage, even though I endured it being that painful.. I went for about 20 sessions at a meridian shop that claimed to reduce bone, and about 1 month at a meridian shop that stretches muscles, but there was almost no before-and-after change;;; When comparing plaster casts, the change was so small they barely overlapped differently.
Feeling hopeless, I made up my mind to go with facial contouring and did a huge amount of online research.
Safety - safety systems in the operating room (uninterruptible power supply, and a ventilation system(?) to prevent bacterial infection during surgery, though I forgot the name), an anesthesiologist on site, a trustworthy doctor in charge, whether they can respond to emergencies, detailed preoperative examinations
Aesthetics - whether the doctor’s aesthetic sense and the direction of beauty they pursue match mine, whether they use different surgical methods for different cases
Satisfaction - review satisfaction from various apps and cafes, systematic postoperative care, etc.
Because it’s a major surgery, and I wanted it to be a once-in-a-lifetime surgery (I really hated the idea of revision surgery. The recovery period is long too..ㅠ and I thought it would sag more if I did it twice..), I really, really x10 looked into it meticulously before going.
The surgical result was so satisfying that it was almost bewildering;;;; In week 2, I had a CT scan and compared the before and after, and I ended up being 200% more satisfied than I had hoped;; No matter how detailed my explanation was, I expected that because of communication issues and because aesthetic standards are subjective from person to person, I would feel about 80% satisfied..
But I researched thoroughly, studied a lot about what kind of face shape I was pursuing, what details it had, and what face shape would harmonize with my features, and I tried to explain it as objectively and clearly as possible.
I’m really satisfied ㅠㅠ For now, only the major swelling has gone down and a lot of minor swelling remains, so I look like a squirrel(?) and still have a lot of candy-like swelling, but I can gradually see the jawline emerging and confirm that the 45-degree cheekbones have definitely been reduced as much as I wanted!
After doing my facial-contouring research(?), the conditions I told the director were: -Things I absolutely disliked: I said I absolutely did not want flat straight cheekbones, an anterior chin that was too short or blunt, or a slim V-line -Desired direction: a change where the 45-degree protrusion becomes softly similar in level to the brow bone so it no longer stands out as a flaw; reduction of the lateral cheekbones to match my sunken temples; changing from my current somewhat sagging U-line to a slightly steeper mild V-line; leaving the mandibular angle under the ear (noble jaw); and, if possible, reducing the length of the anterior chin by about 0.5 cm. During the final sketch before surgery, I was told that if the jawline became steeper, it would be difficult to leave the noble jaw as well, and since I also knew that, due to my facial characteristics, my ears are positioned quite low, I chose the angle and cleanly gave up on the noble jaw.
Anyway, I’m really, really satisfied with the result, and since I researched so much, I’m so proud that I got the right result in one go…
From my experience having had a few surgeries(?), when you get surgery from people who perform surgery cleanly and skillfully, there isn’t much bruising, swelling is low from the start, and it goes down quickly. That was the case for me.
