Hoo, before deciding on double-jaw surgery and before receiving a consultation at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, I worried a lot about which hospital I should go to, but I mainly looked at private hospitals rather than university hospitals! That’s because I felt they would look after me well one-on-one. I looked at the website and YouTube, also searched a lot of reviews, and there were many double-jaw surgery results. The hospital atmosphere was friendly, the consultant took good care of me, and the director’s consultation was detailed, so I chose EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery! Since middle school, my asymmetry had become noticeably worse, and in everyday life, whenever I took photos, I often felt psychologically uncomfortable and withdrawn… So I was diagnosed at the dental clinic as a double-jaw surgery case, and I decided to have double-jaw surgeryㅠㅠ
From day 1 to day 7 after double-jaw surgery, the pain was more tolerable than I expected.. And I was so relieved that the nurses at EU took such good care of meㅠㅠ Even though breathing felt stuffy, they took good care of me by my side, and it was very good! On day 5, I had a little bruising, the swelling started to go down little by little, and my nasal congestion was less than before! lol In week 2, I walked regularly, and unlike before, I could feel the swelling going down every evening haha. The outer contour of my face was less swollen than I expected, and rather, my philtrum seemed very swollenㅠㅠ Once I reached 1 month, time had felt so slow up to week 2, but as I returned to daily life, a month passed quickly.
I mainly ate porridge and side dishes that could be swallowed without chewing, and my weight is staying about 1 kg? lower than before double-jaw surgery! I’m slowly trying to chew starting with soft foods, but I think I still need time to chew better~ At the 1-month follow-up check, they also took before-and-after photos, and Director Shin Hee-jin showed me the CT and explained in detail what was done during the double-jaw surgery and my current condition. They also told me the double-jaw surgery swelling would go down a lot more haha. Director Shin explained things so kindly and well, so I liked that~ Comparing with old photos, I can clearly see that my face shape and lip asymmetry have improved so much and that my face has become softer, which was fascinating lolololol. I look forward to each day passing, and even when I happen to have my photo taken, I don’t feel uncomfortable like I did before double-jaw surgery, so I’m very happy!
