This is a draft review based mainly on facts from consultations and diagnoses at three plastic-surgery clinics (A, B, and C) near Gangnam and Sinsa, regarding rhinoplasty.
I visited three clinics known for rhinoplasty because I wanted to improve my normally low, flat nasal bridge and asymmetrical nasal tip.
1. Clinic A (private clinic specializing in rhinoplasty) The consultation was conducted mainly by the doctor and lasted about 20 minutes. Based on CT results, they first checked the size of the septal cartilage and whether I had rhinitis. They suggested using silicone for the bridge without making it excessive, and using septal and ear cartilage for the tip to create a smooth straight-to-upturned profile. They did not recommend unnecessary aggressive osteotomy or additional surgery. A distinctive point was that they limit the number of surgeries performed per day. The consultation waiting time was about 15 minutes.
2. Clinic B (large plastic-surgery clinic) They emphasized harmony with overall facial proportions. A coordinator consultation was followed by a doctor consultation. They recommended a more dramatic straight profile, combining a silicone nasal implant with tip cartilage binding, bulbous-nose correction, and alar reduction. As the number of procedures increased, they also explained the discount on the surgical fee available for signing a same-day preliminary contract. The doctor consultation lasted about 10 minutes, and the total waiting time was about 30 minutes.
3. Clinic C (clinic that prefers natural-looking lines) The consultation focused on achieving a natural improvement without an artificial appearance. After checking skin thickness and elasticity, the doctor suggested using Gore-Tex or thin silicone for the bridge and only autologous cartilage for the tip to create a natural line. They focused on correcting asymmetry and explained in detail the possible complications and limitations after surgery. The doctor consultation lasted about 15 minutes, and the waiting time was about 20 minutes.
