I had been stressed out because of the epicanthal fold and the inner canthus, and since I also had to work, worrying about it only added more stress, so I got a consultation and booked it for the very next day and went ahead with it.
I had nose surgery at another hospital three weeks ago, so I was anxious they might accidentally touch that area, and I told the director again to be extra careful before proceeding!
I had previously had fat grafting, so I also had a little bit removed from the front cheek area.
I also consulted about lower canthoplasty because I wanted the under-eye outer line to be softened just enough for only me to notice, but the doctor said to do outer canthoplasty instead of lower canthoplasty and open it diagonally rather than horizontally, so that is how we proceeded. Since I am a man, I did not want a big vertical eye width like a woman, just a very slight change that only I could notice? In a way it might even feel like a waste of money? I only wanted the line improved, so it may not be obvious~ Then, thinking about it again in the mirror, because of left-right asymmetry, the left side at least had somewhat of a lower-canthus-like feeling, so I changed it again to match the left side. But since this is being done on only one side, I am worried that once it settles, the side that was not done might somehow become asymmetric again.
I had outer canthoplasty done in the past, so I know well how uncomfortable conjunctival edema can be, and I am hoping the swelling does not come......
Because of the fat grafting I had in the past, my front cheek area seemed to have sagged... and the nasolabial folds seemed more pronounced, so that was also bothering me, which is why I proceeded with it. For the front cheek area, if too much is removed it can make you look older, and since it is such a sensitive area, during consultation we decided on only a small amount, 6 cc per side? But when the surgery actually started, they said they removed 10 cc on each side, 20 cc in total. After surgery, looking in the mirror, honestly I still am not really sure about the front cheek area. If it is still like this after a few months, I will have to ask the hospital... In the case of facial liposuction, there will be swelling and early hardness, so I think it is right to judge it starting about a month later, so for now I plan to wait.
And it seems like it was from a previous thread lift, but I had hollowness in both cheeks, so I got filler for the indented areas, 1 cc on each side.
The most important main procedure was the epicanthoplasty correction, and that is the part I am most worried about. It really needs to turn out well....
By the way, are epicanthoplasty stitches normally removed around day 10? I was thinking around 7 days because of work and everything, so I was going to ask if I could get them removed on day 5, but they said epicanthoplasty can open up again, so the stitches have to be removed on day 10........
(While writing this, I called again, and they said that for epicanthoplasty, if the wound looks okay on day 7, the stitches can be removed, but outer canthoplasty is definitely day 10.)
When I went out to get the prescription, I had some new ophthalmic ointment left over from when I got prescribed it after my previous nose surgery, so I saved on medicine costs!
That is my same-day review
