After <1 month after double-jaw surgery> After <1 month after double-jaw surgery> After <3 weeks after double-jaw surgery> After <2 weeks after double-jaw surgery> After <5 days after double-jaw surgery> After <2 days after double-jaw surgery> After <1 day after double-jaw surgery> Before <before surgery> Before <before surgery> Before <before surgery> I received double-jaw surgery from Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and went to the hospital for my one-month checkup, and she said I can now chew things that can be crushed by pressing with my hand, eek >.< The orthodontic director is kind, and the manager is always kind too, which is nice!! That makes me feel so at easeㅠ And since the amount of time I have to wear the wafer has decreased, the inside of my mouth feels more comfortable, though it still feels kind of awkwardㅋㅋ In the morning after I wake up, the swelling feels tight and puffy, but as I go about my day, by evening it looks reduced. Since it has only been one month, they said I need to watch it a bit longer for the swelling to go down haha. I should slowly try soft foods.! . Thinking back to day 1 after double-jaw surgeryㅋㅋㅋ Thankfully, breathing through my nose was not as uncomfortable as I expected. At dawn it felt a little stuffy, so I told them, and they sprayed something into my nose. As soon as they sprayed it, it immediately felt better. I could breathe well, but because I had to keep sitting in one position, my lower back and butt hurt so much. I hope I recover quicklyㅠ
Day 2 after double-jaw surgery My face swelled a little more than yesterday. Thankfully my nose is not very blocked, but my throat is swollen, so it stings a little when I drink water or New Care. In the morning I got laser treatment, had disinfection done, and was discharged. Yesterday I was frustrated from lying down all day, but today I walked around a little, and moving definitely made my condition feel a bit better.
Day 3 after double-jaw surgery They told me today would be the worst day for swelling, so I was mentally prepared, but as expected, it seems the hardest. Now my nose is blocked too, so breathing is a little hard, and other areas are okay, but my jaw is so swollenㅠㅠ Is this rightㅠ Still, they said it will start going down from tomorrow, so I should try to endure it. When I was at the hospital, the nurses were kind and always there, and I felt cared for, so I felt a bit at ease. But after discharge, once the swelling started getting worse, I did feel a little anxious. Still, before, I used to be bothered every time I took pictures with the basic camera, but when I take review photos now, it seems like the asymmetry has improved a lot, so I feel good haha
Day 4 after double-jaw surgery I thought the facial swelling would go down a little, but it swelled more than yesterday, crazy. Until yesterday I lived on only New Care and water, but eating only that left me with no energy, so I blended porridge and also had beef bone soup. I definitely feel like I have more strength than with New Care. I’m also melting ice cream and eating it. And finally, I removed the stickers on my face, showered, and washed my hair. The compression band was so suffocating that I barely wore it, but my face kept getting more and more swollen, so I’m wearing it again. I think I’d be happy if only the swelling would go downㅠㅠ
Day 5 after double-jaw surgery Today I walked hard too! Now my nose is not blocked, so it is not stuffy, but sleeping sitting up is hard. I want to hurry up and sleep lying down.
Day 6 after double-jaw surgery Finally the swelling is starting to go down a little!! It does not show much though haha, but as long as I know~ I have adjusted to some extent now, so there is nothing particularly uncomfortable, but eating is the most disappointing part.. I’m so tired of only having a liquid dietㅠㅠ These days, because I want to eat delicious food, I just search for mukbangs for vicarious satisfaction. I want to recover quickly and eat delicious food, ah! ㅋㅋㅋ
Day 7 after double-jaw surgery I went to the hospital to get disinfection and laser treatment. But it stung much more than I expected during disinfectionㅠㅠ I can feel the double-jaw surgery swelling gradually going down! I tried hard to eat this and that, and I definitely have more energy than before. As expected, eating well seems to be the most important thing.
Week 2 after double-jaw surgery Finally, I had the stitches removed. I was so scared until I went to the hospital, and as expected, it did hurt a littleㅠㅠ Until now, when I smiled, the areas with stitches pulled and hurt, but now it does not hurt at all even when I smile!! Director Shin said that now it is okay to eat as long as I cut food finely enough that I do not have to chew. I also walked a lot, so the swelling has gone down a lot and my condition has improved, so other than eating, I don’t really feel uncomfortable. I just hope the day comes soon when I can eat delicious food haha
Week 3 after double-jaw surgery After my week 2 appointment, I started mouth-opening exercises, and as I practiced consistently, I think I can open a little wider than two fingers. These days I cut regular food as much as possible and eat it, and after eating only porridge every day, eating regular food makes me so happy. Sometimes reality hits me, but wherever I go, scissors are essentialㅋㅋㅋㅋ Since I have to cut everything before eating, mealtimes get longer.. But if I chew thoroughly, it’s good for dieting too, right? Lucky Vicky n City~ After removing the stitches, I can brush my teeth too, and now I just sleep lying down..!! A lot of the swelling has gone down, but there is still some around my jaw and cheeks, so when I take photos I look like Dooly.. haha I think it will look natural once the swelling goes down. Still, when I take photos with the rear camera, the asymmetry is not very noticeable, so I was so happy!!
