Review of 3 types of male facial contouring at The Standard of Contouring

I chose facial contouring surgery as my first cosmetic surgery in my life. My cheekbones were protruding, and I had a developed square jaw, so every time I took photos, my face came out broad and flat, which was always stressful. Even when taking graduation photos, wearing a graduation cap made that broad look doubled, to the point where I wondered if this was really my face. I considered facial contouring Botox or injections too, but everyone said it returns quickly and does not mean much if you do not consistently manage body fat. So since I had decided to fix it anyway, I made up my mind to have surgery.

There are broadly three things I consider when choosing a clinic: 1. Is the doctor trustworthy? 2. Is the price reasonable? 3. Are the aftercare and service satisfactory?

There were not many places that satisfied all three. For several days, I searched through this community and other cosmetic surgery-related communities, and although the clinic had not been open for long, Director Oh Jung-seok had an excellent background and abundant experience. More than anything, I liked that he specializes only in facial contouring, so I decided to get a consultation at The Standard of Contouring.

The people at the desk and the doctor were all kind. Although it is my own face, there were parts where I had no idea how it should be corrected, but the doctor gave a detailed consultation and mapped out which parts of my skeletal structure needed to be osteotomized and by how much, and what surgical direction would suit my face. To be honest, I visited after being about halfway decided already, but he immediately pinpointed the areas I had considered complexes and even laid out an improvement direction, so without much hesitation, I scheduled the surgery date for 2 days later.

For 3 days after surgery, because of swelling, it was hard even to eat porridge, but from week 2, there was no major discomfort with eating or daily life. And more than anything, even immediately after the procedure while swollen, my cheekbones had almost disappeared and I could see that my facial shape had become smooth, so my satisfaction with the surgery was high.

They said my skin is very firm(?), so the possibility of cheek sagging is low, but the swelling around my cheeks might go down a bit later than others. Now that a month has passed, except for the swelling around my cheeks, the swelling around my jaw and eyes has almost disappeared, so I expect even more satisfying results as I eat well, exercise, and reduce the remaining minor swelling.

Because they said a lot of bone was shaved down and the swelling would last a long time, I have been living while combining daily cardio and light strength training. Compared with the 1-month mark, the swelling has definitely gone down a lot, and it has gradually moved downward, so now only the deep cheek area remains.

I visited recently to check the CT progress, and there were no abnormalities with the fixation pins or bone union. If I continue managing the swelling, I expect my facial shape will gradually settle.

The protruding cheekbones are already gone and the contours have become smooth. There is almost no particular foreign-body sensation or discomfort when eating, so there is no interference at all with daily life.

I am looking forward to the 6-month progress and beyond.
