This is day 2.. They said I can’t write a new post until another post goes up. So I’m putting it here.
First of all, because my nose is blocked and I have to breathe through my mouth, I slept maybe 2 hours... Every time I tried to breathe through my nose, I woke up, so instead of sleeping I kept drinking water nonstop, just going back and forth to the bathroom... It’s tough. My throat is completely parched.. How am I supposed to sleep until Monday...
Leaving that aside, I guess the swelling is really not much. It’s only a little swollen and otherwise totally fine. Usually when I watch videos, day 3 is when the swelling is really bad, so why am I so normal lol
There isn’t much else to report, just that I can’t sleep. When I swallow, pressure goes into my nose and I get blood + nasal discharge.. (same when eating..) , I’m annoyed that I can’t taste anything.. that’s about it?
Oh, and I’ll tell you about the incident that pissed me off last time.
I said I visited on the 11th and had surgery on the 12th, right? Because it was functional surgery and insurance reimbursement was possible, I asked the insurance company and they said I needed an admission/discharge certificate.
So I told the head coordinator, the coordinator, and the receptionist, and I went into surgery after they said I’d need to be admitted for 6 hours.
Before that, I was consulting with the surgeon and the functional surgery director, and the functional surgery director was talking like, if they raise the nose, it becomes hard to breathe. The right side is a bit narrow, though. Since they’d use the septum, they probably wouldn’t be able to use the septum... what am I supposed to do with that? (Then does that mean everyone who gets nose surgery can’t breathe?? Seriously, come on lol) They said they’d figure it out to suit my rhinitis.
So I thought, well, of course you would, you’re the doctor, so just do it properly yourself, and if things go to hell I’d think about tearing everything down and starting over, and moved on.
So that was my first bout of anger, and then the surgery director didn’t explain the downsides of donor cartilage, but I had already searched everything I could, including videos and websites, and there were people saying it’s bad.
I said I didn’t want to use it, but they said it’d be fine and that they almost always use it in revision surgery. They said they’d open it up first and decide after looking. If the septum used before was normal, they’d reuse it, and if not, they’d use donor cartilage... well, if there’s no support to build on, I guess you have to use that too.. and I let it go, which was my second bout of anger ?ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ?ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ

I just endured everything and the surgery started and ended. They said I could leave after about an hour in the recovery room, so I put my clothes on and was about to go to the lobby, but then I remembered I needed a 6-hour admission/discharge certificate.
That’s what I need for reimbursement. Since I had clearly mentioned it before surgery, I asked at the lobby just in case.
I asked whether they could issue a 6-hour admission/discharge certificate if I left now.. They said they didn’t know. Then they suddenly called someone and told me to go back up to the ward. Went to the ward ㅡ got angry in the ward.
Seriously, are you treating me like some dog doing drillsㅡㅡ
The coordinator in charge called me (this bastard was off because it was Lunar New Year)
- They said that normally after surgery, when you leave the recovery room, they issue an admission/discharge certificate. Huh? They made me do dog-training again, damn it.
They said they’d give some trainingㅡㅡ The thing I was most curious about was what exact surgery had been done on my nose. Nobody knew how many mm had been inserted or whether donor cartilage was used (the price changes), so they said they’d check and call me back.
No contact on day 3ㅡㅡ You’re dead when I go to get the packing out on Monday.. I don’t usually make a fuss, but they didn’t keep their promise, did the surgery, and then acted like it was none of their business, which makes me even angrier.
I tried to understand because it was a holiday, but if you weren’t going to call, then don’t promise to call. At least call and say sorry.. Ugh, so annoying.
ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ Day 3 update.. The runny nose and blood are still there.. The swelling is getting worse..ㅠㅠ The nose that didn’t hurt on the day of surgery started throbbing and stinging on days 2-3..
Since it was functional nose surgery and they opened everything up and went to town on it, I guess that makes sense.. I’m holding out by taking painkillersㅡ it’s not super painful, just throbbing annoyinglyㅠㅠ
