I’m 5 months post-op from 2 types of facial contouring surgery.
Before surgery)
My complex was that I looked fine when I was just still, but when I smiled, my chin protruded forward like a protruding jaw. While searching for similar cases, I found Dr. Park Jun-gyu’s blog. His aesthetic standards seemed precise, and I could see that he had thought deeply about many different cases. I went there right away :)
I had consultations at three places in total, and unlike the previous places, he recommended advancement rather than setback.
I’m the kind of person who really needs to be convinced, so based on the blog content, I asked all kinds of questions about the surgical method. I wanted to resolve my question of, I hate that it protrudes like a protruding jaw, so advancement?
He said that through advancement, he would fill the anterior chin volume while rotating both sides of the chin tip forward to fill the insufficient mandibular body volume, and lower the angle of the chin tip that was facing forward. I understood it and booked the surgery right away.
After surgery)
Compared with other people, my swelling was on the more severe side, so it was only after two months that I looked humanㅠ I think the reason was that the surgery took a bit longer because the director paid extra close attention to the angle in fine detail :) That kind of swelling was totally manageable~ At follow-up visits too, I could see that he genuinely cared about each patient.
I still have a somewhat heavy? stiff? feeling at the tip of my chin, but it’s not to a bothersome degree. They said this would also get better with time. Sensation had all returned around month 2!
Unless you had cheekbone surgery, from about a week after surgery, your mouth opens well and you can eat pretty much everything^^
It may not show well in photos, but when I had long hair down, my jaw was on the wide side, so I looked like a man with long hair and had no confidence, but now I wear it down confidently! There is also a slightly lifted feeling, and I think it’s the effect of the square jaw surgery. Unexpectedly, it is one of the results I’m very satisfied with :)
While the swelling was going down, I had all kinds of thoughts and many worries, but after 6 months, if I’m dissatisfied with the result, they also have a service to redo the surgery as desired with only the anesthesia fee, so for now it felt reassuring, like insurance.
They say facial contouring should be evaluated up to 1 year, but even now at month 5, I’m living much more satisfied than before. I still seem to have slight residual swelling, so I’m going to wait slowly until the 1-year mark~ Facial contouring is bone surgery, so the recovery period is long, and it really feels like a battle of patience!
If you’re wondering where to get facial contouring, I completely recommend Dr. Park Jun-gyu!!!! Make sure to read the blog carefully too. It will help you understand a lot :)
