After going through revision surgery myself, I know people can call a nose with real contracture and complications an extreme-case nose, but I also naturally think that someone like me, who has a short nose length and failed the first surgery so needed revision surgery, counts as an extreme-case nose too. So I thought my review might help, and that’s why I’m writing it~
Thinking back now, I think the reasons my first surgery failed were the combo of my opinions not being properly reflected + meeting a director with no aesthetic sense ㅠ.ㅠ So even though I already had a short nose and bulbous nose, those issues were not improved at all, and it just changed to being slightly? higher than my original nose, with no major change. Even I felt it a bit, but people around me said that from the front, my nasal tip looked slightly upturned;; so I felt like I couldn’t live like this and got revision surgery.
Since revision surgery obviously costs more and is bound to be a tricky surgery, I thought I should go to a clinic with lots of reviews and a reputation for revision surgery. I think I was definitely drawn to the director who really listened to my opinions during the consultation! To explain a bit of what I heard at the clinic where I had surgery.
First, the director explained by drawing the angle and height of my nose on photos, and said that even though I had surgery, my nose was still really very low ㅠㅠ And as I expected, it had become an upturned nose;; they said it was important to lower the nasal tip through short-nose correction. They explained that the balance from the nasal bridge to the nasal tip is really important, and they were extremely thorough in the consultation so I could understand it easily from my level. Out of all the places I visited for my first-nose consultation + revision-surgery consultations, I think they gave the best consultation? Their aesthetic sense was the best too!
And after having revision surgery, what I feel is that compared with the first surgery, revision surgery had less pain and the swelling went down faster! Since the nose line was set the way I wanted from the start, even with swelling, I think my satisfaction was much higher than after the first surgery. I also like that the overall nose line became smoother, and since it was revision surgery on a short nose, it was truly an extreme-case nose, but I’m relieved the director did it well according to what I wanted.. This is why I feel finding a clinic that listens well to your opinions is the most important.
