I honestly agonized a lot over whether to choose Mentor Xtra or Mentor MemoryGel Classic..ㅠㅠ I still couldn’t give up on Mentor because of the feel.. and after continuing my final consultations with the doctor, I thought MemoryGel Classic would be a bit better, so I made the final decision and had the surgery with that!! To share my specs, my ribcage was 70 and I was an A cup, and the breast pocket measurements differed a bit depending on the hospital, but I think you can think of it as around 12~12.5? My left side was a bit smaller, so we did 350 cc on the left and 325 cc on the right, and the asymmetry was corrected.
I had wanted the surgery to make me around a D cup, so I asked the hospital to put in large implants, and I’m so grateful that they matched it so the size came out well..ㅋㅋ At first, because of the implant weight, they felt a little heavy and quite firm, so it felt awkward + tiring.. But as time goes on, I’m getting used to the weight and enjoying watching the swelling go down..ㅋㅋ
When I first went around to hospitals, everyone recommended Motiva, saying that if I enlarged breasts without much original breast tissue, it would be hard to shape them and Motiva would be better. But I kept thinking there might be a more reasonable option with a good feel for breast surgery.. I felt like if I decided there, I would regret it too much.
So I went to a few more places and ended up making my final decisionㅠ As expected, when you’re unsure, it’s good to look around at various other places too! It may be confusing, but I think it’s a necessary process to feel confident about the hospital your heart is leaning toward.
While having breast surgery, I also had accessory breast tissue removal done at the same time~ (My judgment was, since I’m already lying down, just do it all..ㅋㅋ) The incision was through the inframammary fold, and I was surprised because recovery was really fast. Is anyone here debating between an axillary incision and an inframammary incision.... I really recommend the inframammary fold!!ㅋㅋ The incision line was short and not bumpy.. Seeing that it was neatly sutured made me think, ah, once time passes, fading won’t be an issue at all.
A tip I’m sharing here... Are there any smokers here..?ㅠㅠ I’m not exactly a heavy smoker or anything.... but honestly, holding back from alcohol and cigarettes for a month is hard..... If you feel like you can’t hold back, definitely keep something sweet next to you!! And drink lots of waterㅋㅋ You need to keep other substitute items beside you. That’s how your hand won’t go to cigarettes ㅠㅠ I deliberately kept the windows closed so I wouldn’t smell cigarette smoke much.. and even when walking, if I saw someone smoking, I held my breath and passed by ㅜㅜ.. I tried not to expose myself to places that could tempt me.....
Also, a zero-gravity chair.. I saw some people say it isn’t necessary, but I think if you have one, it’s an absolutely great item!! If you have space at home, definitely buy one in advance!! In the beginning, I slept there and basically lived there ㅋㅋ I originally thought, eh, I can just sleep sitting up~ but people said it was a whole new world, so I bought one thinking I’d give it a try… wow ^^ It supports your posture well and helps you get up without it being difficult, so it’s very good.. You have to be careful about sleeping on your side, so if you have one, it’ll be really nice ㅠㅠ....
Because implants appear where there were none before, the initial implant weight..? pressure?? Things like that can make daily life a little difficult~ But that’s only in the beginning and you’ll adapt quickly. Everyone who has breast surgery goes through it, so don’t worry, and I think you just need to pay good attention to wearing the compression band and compression garment haha!
