I had liposuction on my entire thighs at a numbered hospital in Daejeon. I’m currently on day 3, and I’ll share why I chose this hospital and my current condition.
I’m extremely fearful, so safety was the most important thing to me, first, second, and third. Other people, when they get liposuction, want to remove as much as possible in one go because it is on the expensive side, but for me, I would be satisfied if they removed a moderate amount and I could look better than before. Thigh liposuction is also well known to be very dangerous, and after reading many posts about side effects, medical accidents, and so on, I went for consultations. That made me even more determined to choose this hospital. (People may say that if it is that dangerous and scary, you can just not do it, but I had such severe stress and trauma that I went ahead with surgery despite that fear and anxiety.)
People say liposuction itself is almost like doing it blindfolded. The more experienced the doctor is, the better, and it is important for them to understand the cannula position well just by fingertip sensation and avoid injuring blood vessels. During the consultation before surgery at this hospital, the moment the director who operated on me personally did the design, I felt, let’s trust him and leave it to him! He sat down on the floor and designed it in such great detail, touching and checking several times, and I was truly grateful then. It was because I felt that the director was walking together with me toward a highly complete surgery, as much as I was worrying about and paying attention to my own body.
Everyone said that on the day of surgery it doesn’t hurt, maybe because of the medication, but for me the first day was extreme pain. After I got back, I was in pain and scared, and because I felt so miserable, tears kept falling and I couldn’t sleep properly. The swelling was also so severe that I couldn’t bring my legs together well.
Day 2, the swelling went down a little right away compared with the day before, and it got better enough that I couldn’t really call it pain. I heard it’s good to walk a lot, so even though I had nothing to do, I forced myself to make things to do and moved around.
Day 3, I did self-disinfection for the first time, and the swelling went down again. Everyone says days 2-3 are the most swollen, but I don’t know why I’m different from others.
It’s still the early stage after surgery and before stitch removal, so there isn’t much progress to speak of, but seeing how the hospital takes care of patients and manages safety thoroughly, if other people say they are getting liposuction, I would want to recommend this hospital even if the cost is expensive.
