I had the surgery in October 2023, and I got 310 cc on each side with Mentor Xtra Smooth Moderate High. I briefly debated going with 330 cc too, but I’m glad I didn’t.. My new boyfriend is much older than me, and even now he says they’re really big.. lol If I’d done 330, I think they would’ve been too big, and I probably would’ve felt burdened too.. haha Right now I’m perfectly satisfied!! For the incision, I had it done through the armpit.
When I first started looking into surgery, I thought I absolutely wanted to go big, but after seeing that quite a lot of people went big and ended up dissatisfied, then started looking into revision surgery.. I think my thoughts really changed. Like, ah, let’s not get too greedy and just go with a pretty size that suits my body! From the moment my mind settled that way, I started searching for a hospital that matched those needs of mine. There happened to be one place I found, and at first it was purely because the breast shape was so much my style that as soon as I saw the reviews, I called to book and went for a consultation. By then, I had already been to about 3 breast consultations, and if I remember correctly, that place was my fourth. It’s not like I knew absolutely nothing about breast surgery, but I was still kind of unsure.. lol
But after consulting with the consultant there, it really felt like I’d found the answer! I developed this unspoken certainty. That hospital was exactly the kind of hospital I had been thinking of. They don’t go excessive with size, and even if people call them conservative, it seemed like they don’t create bad outcomes such as side effects or dissatisfaction that come from overly large sizes. On top of that, aftercare is guaranteed for life. According to the consultant, the director is very firm about that. Once they operate on a patient, it’s right to take responsibility until the end. So the aftercare period is lifelong..
To be honest, I thought capsular contracture only happened within 1 year after breast surgery. And I’d heard rupture doesn’t happen unless it’s something pretty unusual.. but I found out after the consultant here showed me paper data and statistics.. lol There are actually so many cases where contracture occurs after 10 years, and rupture can also be due to an implant defect, and the causes are so varied that it doesn’t only happen within 1 year.. Until then, none of the hospitals I had visited had explained that to me. Because if they scare people who come in wanting surgery like that, no one will get surgery. To get people to undergo surgery, they need to tell only good stories and happy endings, but here it wasn’t like that. They were so honest, and I felt they were transparent. My trust in them went way up too..
Also, as expected from a breast-specialized hospital, their care program, checkups, follow-up observation, and so on were all very well set up, and I thought, this is the hospital I was looking for~ so I didn’t look around at more hospitals and got the surgery there. That was already more than a year ago haha
After surgery, until about 3 months, I had quite a lot of worries, and I had a lot of random thoughts too, but even then I kept going for hospital care consistently, never skipped my follow-up visits, and didn’t do the things they told me not to do. Living like that, the time passed quickly again. Then before I knew it, a year had gone by. I think the shape started to stabilize from around 5 months, and the feel improved more and more with each month. At first they were really firm, but now they’re soft and squishy. Ah, rather than soft and squishy.. maybe it’s closer to a watery, fluid kind of softness. The way they spread when I lie down and everything, the feel is better than I expected, so now I just want to maintain them exactly like this going forward~ Without getting too greedy... just this much.... lol I hope they stay like this for life.
In that sense, I really highly recommend breast surgery itself! It’s so good, seriously.. It feels like life itself as a woman changes? But there are definitely uncomfortable and difficult parts too, so I think it would be good to try it only after being fully prepared for the parts you’ll need to endure. Think about it a lot, compare things carefully, and go for consultations too!~ Build up lots of information so you won’t have regrets as you live your life going forward~ Always decide carefully and wisely!!
<My surgery info added at the end> Implant: Mentor Xtra Smooth Moderate High 310 cc, armpit incision (330 cc was possible for me, but because my breasts sit high and are wide-set, the larger the implant, the more they could spread apart and the more upper-pole bulging could happen. The director recommended 310 cc more than 330. I did feel a slight urge to be greedy, but after hearing the reason, I felt the director was right, so I trusted the diagnosis and got 310 cc!
