A list of clinics I made for myself ㅇㅅㅈ Pros: Seemed to care about aesthetic harmony, asked carefully whether the filler had been dissolved and whether it was the same material, and the desk staff were kind. Cons: Uses Medpor, so I wondered if I’d need a paranasal augmentation; the director was sharp, talked only about himself, and didn’t really try to listen to my concerns. It felt like he was reacting with, “Do you not trust me?” ctX ㅇㄱㅈㅅㅇ Pros: The director seemed thoughtful. A Seoul National University graduate, and the consultation was easy to have. Cons: They made it sound like they use the septum, but I couldn’t tell whether that was really enough. At the time I didn’t know much. Also, they seemed busy and weren’t the type to look in detail with CT or anything. ctX ㅍㄹㅅㅇㅂㅇㅎㄱ Pros: Looking at celebrities’ photos made me think they probably do a lot of this. Among ENT clinics, it seemed like a place that does a stable, high volume of procedures. ctO functional aspects, covered by insurance. Cons: The idea of removing filler, etc. on the same day felt strange to me, or rather I just couldn’t accept it. They said they mince donated rib cartilage and use that, along with my own ear cartilage or donated cartilage, and those seemed like the common materials. The website mentioned many other materials and advertised treatments, but in the actual consultation they only talked about donated rib cartilage and it wasn’t very detailed. There was a consultation fee. They told me to leave a deposit that day, so I did, but it felt a bit coercive. ㅁㅇㄷㅇ Pros: If you’re going to use autologous rib cartilage, I felt this was probably one of the best places for it (?) The director didn’t seem to be the type to do things recklessly. ctO Cons: I don’t want to use my own rib cartilage, so I’ll probably pass. Even if it’s said to be the safest and longest-lasting material, if they use donated rib cartilage they said the absorption rate could be up to 50% (?) and autologous rib cartilage about 10% (?) On YouTube and the website they also promote 3D silicone, but I don’t know why they didn’t mention it. ㅅㅍㅅㅇㅂㅇㅎㄱ Pros: They explained all the parts I was personally worried about, and I should say their perspective was similar to mine. ctO They opened up my nose, which was good. Functional aspect, insurance. They only operate two days a week, Monday and Friday, which I liked. They explained in a way that made sense that the tip procedure was about pulling the tissue and bringing the tip down. But they explained the length and aesthetic aspects a bit less. Cons: I guess they’re not very well known, so the image I got was that I just didn’t know much about them. I had to come in a week before to dissolve the filler, and if I wanted to use insurance, I had to add another treatment. But I was also curious and kind of wanted to try it; it was a headache treatment. Among the materials, they could use donated rib cartilage for the tip, but when I asked whether that would make it bend, the manager seemed to avoid answering the question. It felt like the topic suddenly shifted to inflammation. For the bridge, they use donated dermis, and for the tip, the septum and donated rib cartilage. ㅇㅇㅇ Pros: An old-school plastic surgeon, in the best sense. A Seoul National University graduate. I got a private feeling from it. The operating room was on the same floor and it felt almost comfortable. I remember they only see two patients a day. It seemed like an incision technique that leaves almost no scar gel. They said they don’t place packing, which I’m not sure is a plus, but since it’s not common, I liked how clearly they explained the tip consultation and the harmony with my face and length. Cons: They said the bridge would be silicone, and the tip would be the septum and ear cartilage. They said if they see thread-like material they’ll remove it. They only said that fillers have to be dissolved one week in advance, and that the type doesn’t matter here. I’m not sure that’s true. ctX It wasn’t easy to set up a consultation date and time. There was a consultation fee. ㅈㅇㅈㅇ Pros: The director spoke honestly. He was frank about what could and couldn’t be done, and didn’t try to make things too high or too long. He measured my midface length with a ruler. He said the right side was 7.3 cm and the left was 7 cm. Usually, if it’s 6.3 cm or more, the midface is considered long, but my tip is short, so even though it’s long, it means a short nose. He explained it clearly by drawing on the mirror. Cons: They don’t seem to explain the internal details in much depth. ctX Not having a CT doesn’t seem like a disadvantage, but still, a little. And they said the tip would use ear cartilage, with the ear body hidden, and two pieces of rib cartilage to prevent bending, which I can somewhat understand.
